Crack meet pot. I wish I had a dollar for every doom & gloomer who predicted the "End of Civilization" or some variation thereof.

Weren't any of you guys around during the "Survivalist" movement of the 1970's...remember the name Howard Ruff? How many of you invested your life savings in non-perishable foods, gold and hideaways so that you were prepared for the great collapse of the 70's?

I remember trapsing around in the streets with my trusty .45 strapped to my side and my Mini-14 with its 30 round banana clips searching for food for my family. We depleted our stash of freeze-dried food, beans and rice in the first 6 months...after that it was dog eat dog. Let me tell you that was some other kind of economic meltdown...oh wait...I forgot...IT NEVER HAPPENED!!!!

PT Barnum was right; There is a sucker born every minute.

Crack meet pot

When the big snow storm hit a few years back, The Meow Family sat in front of the TV, watching everyone panic and run to the store for supplies. We didn't have to - we were prepared.

When hurricane Isabel hit in 03, The Meow Family pulled out their hurricane preparation supplies, made the rounds of the homestead, making sure everything was secure, and watched the stupid people panic on TV.

When the DC Snipers were doing their thing, The Meow Family had no worries - we didn't need to go out since we were prepared.

On Sept 12, 2001, The Meow Family added "terrorism" to their preparation list. Now we are prepared for that.

Disaster doesn't have to be a nuclear blast or zombie invasion. It can be a local crime spree, a storm or a personal tragedy, a family death or serious accident.

Only a fool would not prepare their family for disaster.
