I am so sorry to hear the news. Yes it is known that when a person has Crone’s disease it increases their risk of Colon Cancer by a lot so this might be the best option. Living without a colon is not easy but in time you get used to it. My Dad died of Colon Cancer in 1998, did not know he had it til it had already spread to the liver, it can be a silent killer so if by your nephew getting this surgery will prevent him from getting this dreadful disease later on in life it’s worth it. I will pray for him. God Bless

Prayers up, Starwise.
If it’s any consolation, I heard a radio show about Crohn’s Disease and included interviewed from people who were greatly relieved when they had the colostomy. They had tried everything to avoid it, but their lives were getting just unbearable. With the operation, they felt they had regained their lives and wished they had not been afraid and done it sooner. I hope things turn out as well in this case.

Prayers for your nephew and his doctors, STARWISE.
A good friend of ours was diagnosed years ago and has lived with a colostomy since. He says you get used to the routine and that it beats the alternative.

My SIL brother had the same surgery over 10 years ago, he was in his early 30’s. He is doing great and I remember him saying that he should have done the surgery earlier, he feels like he has his life back.
It will take a period of adjustment but he will not regret doing this...
Prayers just the same

Lord, we pray that this surgery will provide a new beginning for Chris. May it go even more smoothly than the doctors predict, and may it give many more years to Chris. And we ask your blessings on the entire family—that you would give grace in this difficult time. Please give them an extra-special holiday season.
To: STARWISE
Prayer for him and the whole family. I would think of it this way, if at any time he has colon cancer he would almost certainly have colostomy surgery. Going ahead with surgery is a small price to pay giving a choice. Prayers to all.
To: STARWISE
Heavenly Father we lift up Chris, his family and doctors to you.
We ask for your intervention and complete healing. We thank you in advnce for answering all of our prayers.
In Jesus Name Amen.

Amen to your heartfelt prayer for your beloved Chris, Starwise ... may the Lord's healing hand rest mightily upon him, restoring him to the fullness of health that he so desires. May wisdom guide his surgeons, and may comfort and encouragement surround the family who awaits. Let us know when all is well, that we might rejoice with you, to the Glory and Honor of our Lord Jesus Christ.
