I tripped over a link to this in the comments on AOSHQ and I wanted to share my find.

This here is a great reminder for those of us who live in either "solid blue" or "solid red" states.

YOUR VOTE MATTERS.

Do not take it for granted.

Not only is our state the bluest of all blue states, they also like to claim Obama as a “native son” though he rarely mentions his time here. I intend to cast my lone red vote in the next couple of weeks as well (we have early voting). Hawaii will have at least 3 votes for McCain - hubby, son, and mine. Wonder if I could have signed up our cats at the registration booth where they recruited my son (a probable ACORN pro-Obama group on campus). That would be doubly delicious - two feline ACORNs for McCain.

I guess Iowa has turned from purple to blue, but I will cast a red vote here.

This is exactly what happened to Bush in 2000 - he won the electoral college - but Gore (supposedly) won the popular vote.

Is it any wonder the dems continue to push for ditching the electoral college.

However, when Bush ran against Kerry - Bush’s popular vote count was in the millions more than Kerry.

The dems stopped talking about the electoral college for awhile.

Now .. they just want the conservatives to sit down and shut up. I plan to rebel against that.

Also, if the leftists completely dominate politics, then one of the many terrible things that they will definitely do is completely eliminate the Electoral College forever! This present election couldn’t be more important for the sake of keeping both “U.S. conservatism” and U.S. capitalism alive longer.

It's a privilege and an honor to vote in any state.

I don't understand why anyone would fore-go the opportunity unless they are uniformed and not feeling up to the decision. In which case, I whole heartedly support their choice.

Concur. It’s comical to me to see many of my leftist peers whine about how their votes in red states for Dims “don’t count”.

Very nice post.

That is why my vote today is important; it mitigates the damage that will result from a close election, or future tensions between Americans.

Even if McCain/Palin win in a landslide, your vote is important.
