Former Terrorists Bill Ayre and Bernadine Dohrn Involved in Key Pro-Obama Organization

In 1995 former Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayres and Bernadine Dohrn helped launch Barack Obama's political career at a small function in their Chicago home.

Bill Ayres also hired Obama to head the Annanberg Challenge, a $50 million fund which enabled Obama to fund organisations which could enhance his political career.

Later Ayres worked with Obama on the board of the Woods Fund, together doling out millions to leftist causes.

Obama has consistently tried to minimise his relationship with Ayres and Dohrn. The couple themselves, seem intent on maintaining a low profile-until at least after the election. Both parties realise that Obama's opponents will seize on any links to Ayers and Dohrn in order to discredit the Senator.

But are Ayers and Dohrn really out of the picture? Could they still be helping their friend from "underground?

As an organization the Weather Underground *might* not have killed anyone, aside from three of their own in a townhouse explosion in New York City, although the bomb they were working on at the time of the blast was packed with nails and intended to be planted at a social event at Fort Dix, NJ. However, they were strongly *suspected* as being behind a bombing which killed a police officer in San Fransisco. The 1981 Brinks truck robbery and triple murder involving 'former' Weather Underground members and the Black Liberation Army took place several years after the WU 'officially' broke up as an organization (they were obviously still engaged in 'revolution'). Susan Rosenberg, involved in the case, as was Dohrn, was caught transporting roughly 800 pounds of explosives a few years later (in 1985).

Looks to me like Bill Ayers stole (or borrowed) this phrase from Bob Avakian, chairman of the Revolutionary Communist Party. Both the Weather Underground and RCP have roots in the radical Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) organization.

Bad things happen everywhere. In my city a former Sheriff was molesting an underage boy while he was in jail. It wasn’t discovered till years later. He got a slap on the wrist because of ‘health’ reasons.

Bad judges everywhere give light sentences to killers, molesters. Usually it’s only one or two people they killed, like O.J.Simpson, not bombings.

Wonder if O.J. supports Obama.

What twisted, perverse logic of that FBI agent. It wouldn't be worth commenting on, except that it expresses conventional wisdom, something shared by many here, I'd bet.

There are no background checks on political candidates, it (the logic) says, because we are a free country (always a sufficient excuse, see the case of O.J. Simpson) and the American people are free to elect whom they wish. Fine, let them elect Charles Manson and Ted Kaczynski. But if they do (elect Communists and murderers), that is they express their full trust in them, then why do we conduct background checks on the appointees of these fully trusted elected officials? I suspect the answer would follow even more twisted and perverse logic.

Being that this is hardly a routine situation, I kind of think that Obama’s entire life is an open book to more than a few people.

I think that, while the F.B.I. and others publicly appear to be hamstrung by not wanting to appear to have any part in influencing the election, things go on behind the scenes that, rightfully so, never see the light of day.

You’re thinking the same thing I am regarding his ability to pass a security background check. There are a number of things that would cause Obama’s immediate disqualification for ANY level of security clearance - heck he couldn’t even be a Police Officer with his admitted drug use. And yet, the liberals see no problem with this?

They call Bush a terrorist, and then completely IGNORE the KNOWN terrorists that Obama calls his friends, mentors, spiritual advisors, business associates, & fundraisers, etc... etc? Talk about hypocrisy and audacity!

I agree with you wholeheartedly. The problem is that I fear the average American probably doesn’t understand how far from their principles, and journalistic ethics today’s MSM have really traveled.

Granted, this may be changing because a recent poll showed that the majority of Americans did NOT believe the Media was unbiased. And, in fact, out of those who DID realize the bias - 5 to 1 agreed that things were skewed in favor of Obama. However, I STILL don’t think they realize how many issues (like William Ayers & Obama) are not even BROACHED much less really investigated and reported on.

As you said, we MUST find a solution to this... Although, I’m not sure what the solution is. After all, the average American doesn’t have the time to surf the internet, blogs, and forums for the REAL news. What I’d REALLY like to see is a strong central location for news NOT controlled by the Liberal Media Establishment that could give them a run for their money — I KNOW a TRUE unbiased source of news would be a refreshing welcome by ALL Americans. It’s just got to be something big. The New Media, and blogging is great (I blog when I can myself), however, there is still a problem with getting this information to the general public. And, as wonderful as FR is - it’s kind of hard to get a liberal-minded individual to even take a second look if you post a link to FR (even if the source of the article itself is NOT from FR!).
