“There ain’t no rules in a knife fight.” Robert Redford and Paul Newman escaped prison in the old west. They went to reclaim their old gang of thieves. But a new leader had emerged, a large, mean looking neanderthal. They agreed to a knife fight to determine leadership. Paul Newman then asked what the rules of the knife fight were. While the dumb ox responded in confusion “There ain’t no rules in a knife fight”, Paul Newman kicked the neanderthal in the balls and won the fight.
The perplexed loser protested “That ain’t no knife fight”. But it is the essence of Alinsky Organizing.
This paper is based on Games Community Organizations Play, a booklet sold to Alinsky community organizers in the ‘70s. Chapter 1 covers the fundamentals of the game, the building blocks of human interaction used by Alinsky organizers. Chapter 2 describes some games.

Understanding the Rescue triangle is key to understanding liberals and much of American society.

For liberals there is always someone who is dominant, oppressing and persecuting victims. The rich oppress the poor, Newt starves children, Soldiers humiliate al kaeda POWs or a hundred other scenarios. Conservatives describe union bosses, street gangs and tax-n-spend politicians as oppressors who victimize people.
It is reality that some bad guys do victimize others. That makes makes the generalization believable.
But who are the good guys in the game? The Rescuer is the social worker, the civil rights leader, the politician, the criminal defense attorney who rescues the victim from the evil oppressor.

In GOTCHA the media intimidates others into accepting a false premise. Once the false premise is accepted, the truth loses. Charlie asks Palin about the Bush Doctrine, a false premise. Everythinhg is a crisis; from immigration to obesity to global warming. But we haven't had a crisis since WWII. We just like to exaggerate. Once the false premise is accepted, the truth loses.
Yes, Charlie and two dozen other media egos all want to play GOTCHA.
NIGGYSOB (Now I Got You, You Son Of a Bitch) is the checkmate game that all Alinsky organizers want to work up to. GOTCHA is a mini NIGGYSOB on the way up to the NIGGYSOB on election day.
But Obama’s concept of change is to bring a bigger knife to the knife fight. Hillary was his best knife fighter. But Obama scared Hillary might stick the knife in his back. Who wants a president who scares so easily?
So Obama chose a safe knife fighter in Biden. They expected McCain to bring one of his good knife fighters to the fight... Ridge, Lieberman, Romney.
It is not fair that McCain chose a hockey mom. McCain changed the game on them.
Any competent Alinsky organizer knows he will have a bad day. But he is able to bounce back and stay on his game.
That Obama is still confused shows he is not a competent Alinsky organizer. Both Obama and Biden are playing KICK ME. That is not a winning game.
If they want to win, they need to find a way to suck us into playing inside a game of RESCUE or LET’S YOU AND HIM FIGHT or to play the role of Joey in LET’S PLAY A FAST ONE ON JOEY.
For Obama, the dream is that McCain-Palin makes a racist remark, or a remark that the media can claim is racist. Then McCain&Co becomes the oppressor in the game. The goal is to have the voters play the role of rescuer on election day and rescue Obama from the mean racist McCain.
What games do you see played?
Sarah Palin sounds like she has accepted the false premise of manmade global warming, or at least the possibility. She’s playing politics. She’s better when she says what she truly believes, instead of pleasing McCain.
The Left and MSM are desperately trying to paint Palin as evil. Bush is evil. McCain is Bush III. You must be rescued from Bush III.
On our side. Congress has a 9% favourability rating. The Do Nothing Congress is the problem. Obama is part of the problem. A typical politican with lots of empty promises, without any track record of results or major accomplishments. Obama has a track record of doing nothing. Obama is wrong on the Surge, wrong on the military budget cuts/missile defense, wrong on Taxes, wrong on Education, wrong on affordable housing, wrong on crime. Obama will make things worse. McCain Palin will fix things.
I wanna see a knife fight ... the one where Jesse Jackson gets the knife and Bambi is on the run.
How important are the issues to playing the game?
The media likes to play the game of GOTCHA. Does it matter if the GOTCHA is over mis-pronouncing a word; being unable to correctly answer a double negative question; or an issue?
We make a mistake in thinking that the liberals are obsessed with ideology. No, they want to power, they want to show that they are smarter than everyone else. They can flip from global winter to global warming without a pause precisely because they are not obsessed with issues and ideology. Issues are just a means to the end.
So do Obimbo and his radical handlers.

To be honest, I'm not sure. Or I'm missing your point.
To me it seems Obama and Axelrod are just doing it 'the Chicago way'. As in Daley Machine with his army of flying monkey patronage workers, because that's the only way they know how to run a campaign. But from other threads I see on the board that method isn't going over too well with old time DNC honchos who now see Barry going down in flames and taking the down ticket candidates with him.
As to Alinsky -- IMO his methods won't work on a National level. There aren't enough 'Victims' or 'Persecutors' for Obama to come in as their 'Rescuer'. All the previous noise from him about 'Change' was empty rhetoric swallowed only by Moonbats and the MSM (yes I know, that's redundant) .
Barry was a Rock Star to them but in reality is a 'One Hit Wonder' whose time on the Top 40 has come and gone. Mostly due to the new Rock Star, 'Sarahcuda', who is our Elvis (or the Beatles) and connects with almost everyone.
