New York Fashion Week witnessed its first scandal, and it occurred during Donna Karan’s DKNY twentieth anniversary show.

Shouts of “D-K-N-Y! How many animals have to die!” and “Stop the insanity! No blood for vanity!” rang out at the Tent doors, as members of PETA protested the proceedings, reports Fashinologie.

Since you wear leather she’s probably freaked out by the “hunter/gatherer” connotations. If she’s a vege, someone should tell her bean sprouts cry when you bite them.

If she ever read “The Secret Life of Plants”, she'd starve to death.
That book even freaked *me* out....:))

I was at a hot sauce convention in Fort Worth yesterday. I saw a young couple and the girl was wearing a T-shirt that read “MEAT IS MURDER.” I was about to be disgusted when I then read the subtext which said “tasty, tasty murder.” I cracked up and then told her I liked her shirt. She later entered the jalapeno eating contest.

LOL. Potatoes don't have souls or self-awareness. Actually if you're a believer, God created plants specifically for food. He also clothed Adam and Eve in skins after the fall so I'm not doing anything God didn't do. These people are in sin, not us so wear those leathers proudly Girl! :-)

Oh and BITE that potatoe!

I read that book back when I was a teen.
[and a good bit more stupid and impressionable than I am now]...:)

It had vegetables cringing in terror when brought near a pot of boiling water...screaming in agony when plunged in...”grieving” for their ‘relatives’ suffering on the cutting board.

The “scientist” actually performed what amounted to “torture” to prove his bizarre point...variously threatening and abusing innocent vegetables until they responded with shrieks of horror.

[or some such nonsense]

Like “Silent Spring”, it was HUGE seller.

I worship God.
I wear leather.
I eat animals.
I savagely bite crispy baby carrots.

I’m a barbarian...so there....LOL!

[and I once tried vegetarianism...I nearly *died*]

It sounds like an awful book. LOL

I blame Walt Disney for some of this stupidity. He made animals "human". It's cute when you're six. You should be over it at 26. Which just proves that liberals are not mature people.

And I LOVE baby carrots! Plain or dipped in Ranch dressing. Mmmm-MMM!

PETA gets sent to any fashion show where the models look like women instead of starved young boys.

Go figure...

Most idjits are not aware that “cute little Bambi” will gut-hook you during the rut, given half a chance.

We have loads of libs come out to The Wastelands every weekend to “commune with nature”.

“Nature” is generally not amused.

Oh well...it makes the DNR earn their pay.

Now I’m REALLY hungry thanks to you and the steak-pusher.

Gotta go eat....:))

I don't agree with PETA's tactics. In fact I don't agree with anything PETA does. I eat meat. Humans need a certain amount of meat. But we don't need fur coats. There are man-made fabrics and insulations that are cheaper, lighter and just as warm as fur. OK, so they're not as chic or gorgeous, but that's just too bad.

Every pelt represents a once-living, feeling creature. The fur on its back was designed by its Creator to keep it warm and provide protection. Animals have nothing but what they are born with. We have so much, they have so little, and yet we take it anyway, arrogantly assuming it's all for the taking.

Some facts about the international fur industry:

Check this out.

These people make PETA seem almost sane (well, maybe just less insane).

As avowed “nature nuts” you’d think they’d have known enough to leave those pretty red mushrooms with the white spots *alone*.

i wonder if those PETA freaks wear anything leather...

Nor should they wear anything made from oil or transported by oil.

How come they don't go down to the local biker bars and protest all that leather?
