New York Fashion Week witnessed its first scandal, and it occurred during Donna Karan’s DKNY twentieth anniversary show.

Shouts of “D-K-N-Y! How many animals have to die!” and “Stop the insanity! No blood for vanity!” rang out at the Tent doors, as members of PETA protested the proceedings, reports Fashinologie.

To me, being a vegetarian means saying yes to things, like eating meat.

In related news, Sarah splashed some blood on a new bearskin rug she collected in Alaska, (but promptly wiped it off her forehead and finished gutting the grizzly anyway.)

why can't PETA see the glass as half-full? i mean, those models obviously don't eat anything besides lettuce and cigarettes. so PETA should be happy about that.

so they wear fur coats. big deal. i wonder if those PETA freaks wear anything leather...

I just need two more coyote pelts for my wife to make my coat. Had deer steak last night, and deer bow season just opened, and I have a buck and doe tag for deer gun season. I’m also spotting moose for my neighbor. Last weekend I sanded & prepped my muskrat and badger traps. I love it when the weather turns colder and the killing season begins. PETA no longer solicits donations from me, go figure.

I’ve always wanted to see Peta throw paint on a biker in leather but they never have done it. *sigh*

Upon reflection, we could be taking this protest wrong. Since PETA is protesting the runway action it may not be animal fur they’re protesting, I mean...well...uh those skirts the models wear are pretty short.

See post #9.

At Borders Books, I have parked my bike [intentionally] beside a gal with peta stickers plastered all over her car for quite some time.

So far, she hasn’t “broke stupid” and chooses instead to simply avoid my gaze.

[she does, however, look rather alarmed by the sheer amount of ‘dead cow’ I have draped upon my person]

:)

Now that's funny. I guess their sense of self-preservation overrides their "Poor animals" schtick. Don't get me wrong, I'm an animal lover and I abhor unneeded cruelty but people come first. And I have a lovely grey leather motorcycle jacket. The bikes long gone but I love my leather.

Funny observation I made once and told my wife who exclaimed, “you’re right.”

When shopping at whole foods (paycheck), the sullen hippie girls all work in vege or misc section. The happy and friendly girls are all in charcuterie and cheese.

Medium rare is the best, although if necessary, I’ll take rare rather than medium. Steakhouses are great places to visit.

I hear ya.
Due to my bordering-on-crazy affection for critters, my family has called me “Elly Mae” just about forever.

I don’t know why she’s freaked out by me...she’s like twice my size.....the dead cows must make me look bigger...LOL
