It is a marksmanship trainer. Its computerized, and allows you to shoot with as much realism as ANY simulator can. It even has a gas line hooked up to it to give a “kick” or recoil when the weapon is fired. You can shoot a known distance targets as well as enemy, people type targets. In the Marines we use it to train or re-mediate the “marksmanship challenged”.

I’m sure. I didn’t see the fatigues in the background.

It is a rifle (M-4) used as a training device in conjunction with a computer screen showing targets, kind of like a real large video game. She is looking at the targets moving on the life size screen and trying to hit them or, as in some scenarios, determining if they are really targets or noncombatants. The cord is used to communicate between the laser, screen, and controlling computer. It used to be called MAIS (Military Automated Instruction System) but that might have changed.

Sorry about my posting over yours. The gas line is something that was added since I taught its use at Ft. Hood, many years ago.

That is not an M4, not an M16A4, it is NOT A FIREARM!

It is a mock up training rifle that is attached to a pneumatic shooting training aid based on Engagement Skills Trainer 2000 (EST 2000).

The EST 2000 teaches marksmanship skills, squad-level tactical judgmental “shoot-don’t shoot” scenarios, and trains soldiers in the use of various US Military small arms. The basic system has either an M16A2 or M4 mockup, that uses a pressurized cylinder in place of the bolt that will realistically simulate recoil. Other weapons other than the basic rifles are crew served weapons such as the 50 caliber M-2 machine gun and the 40 mm Mark-19 grenade launcher.

Hope this helps.

Oh, and it does use magazines...it actually counts the rounds for you. Its so complicated that if you choose full 30 round magazines, it increases the likelyhood of first round double feeds (making it necessary for you to do the military SPORTS (Stop firing/Safe, Pull charging handle, Observe Chamber, Release charging handle, Tap Forward Assist/Magazine, Safety off )).

It will also "kill you" on the grenade range if you select the high pressure Mk19 rounds for use in your M203 ;)....it will now qualify you for your record fire. Very accurate and neat!

Air powered training rig that is used with a live fire screen indoors for basic marksmanship shoot / no shoot training . The air gives the shooter a felt recoil etc .... like real live fire etc .......cheap practice.

ultimate playstation game / simulator.....

Did you make that? It’s really good. Can you make one that shows her face at one end, his at the other with the words: Somedays you’re Palin, somedays you’re the moose between them? It was gw’s idea.

I don’t see a power cord I see a zipper on her shirt.
The rifle is an M-4 with standard military optics.
