For the record I voted for Sarah Palin in the FR poll, but was disapointed that only 40% of FReepers agreed with me.. I would like to see a new FR poll asking how many FReepers are happy with Sarah Palin.. I bet it would be 90% ---- the same as her approval rating in Alaska.... and soon to be her approval in the USA !!
On another note I wonder if anyone is making bumber stickers that say Vote for Sarah PALIN for VP... because come November that is what I will be doing... John McCain is tha baggage that comes with that vote.. and then in 2012 we (THE GOP) can regroup and consider are options at that time.. but for now.. I am fully on board with Sarah Palin as VP
now.... here is a line I have not used in a while
TOWARD VICTORY !!!

The RNC needs to announce RIGHT NOW that the convention may be delayed a week so that Republican public servants slated to be there may instead attend to the heavy responsibilities that Hurricane Gustav may demand of them upon it’s American landfall.
No need for me to point out the fallout if the GOP parties while the Gulf States drown.

Many on this board assumed he would do that, but he didnt, and he deserves a great deal of credit for going so totally in the opposite direction. Hes not baggage. You are 100% correct that he deserves credit for this decision -- and I will reward him with my vote -- which I was prepared to NOT give him -- in fact I WOULD have voted for Obama - at least he would be someone that the GOP could go "toe-toe" with rather than get stabbed in the back like McCain has done so often ---- Sarah Palin has our BACK !! and for that -- McCain gets my VOTE -- But he is still baggage IMHO ..

Yo Dave, the thing on the back of your car is a bumper, not a bumber. Unless it's a beeber.

LOL... I think there would be huge market for a bumper sticker that expresses that sentiment.. and yes many would be “Former Hillary supporters” —— The 2008 election has just gotten very very interesting..

David is just telling the truth. McCrazy is extra baggage. And a lot of it. If elected he will destroy the Republican Party. While I do not like Osama Obama he will only last one term. America survived Jimmy Carter. If we can survive him we can survive anyone. McCrazy will put Republicans in the back seat for decades.

LOL — and don’t forget many of those “left website” visitors WILL end up voting for Sarah Palin too !! -— a win/win don’t you think? —— we should not have to PRETEND to be happy with John McCain at the top of OUR ticket — in fact in doing so will HURT our party in the long run -— the GOP is NOT dead... YET !!

That poll didn't ask who we wanted McCain to pick, it asked who we thought he would pick. Big difference.

Look for the “McWhatshisname / Palin” sticker. It communicates your sentiment without being too disparaging.

I hope you are right. I used to know John McCain. As a person he is a great guy. As a CIC I think he will be a disaster. I think his pick for VP has been the best move in his political life..

screw you....I’m an American, not a Republican or “republican”........but when the anti-Americans give your nonsense post the notoriety you desire, it hopefully won’t amount to but one tiny cut of many thousands of cuts they will employ in trying to get obama elected.......and FR will get the credit for it, not just some guy somewhere named davidosbourne

"...in fact I WOULD have voted for Obama"
You have just certified yourself as an absolute scumbag.
WTF are you (or were you) thinking of?
Are you telling us that you would have voted for a Marxist ideologue whose friends include former domestic terrorists that tried to blow up the Pentagon, the United States Capitol, and other targets as part of their guerilla warfare against our Nation?!?
Look here pal: I didn't like McCain one iota, and my postings during the primary season testify to that, but when it comes down either voting for McCain or watching the most extreme 'Rats in 20 years seize control of all THREE branches of government, it was a foregone conclusion that I would vote for McCain. My conscience would not allow me to do less.
And don't whine to me about not wanting to hear "speeches", you need to hear something from someone because if you're truly as stupid as your statement about voting for Obama suggests, your elevator not only doesn't go all the way to the top, it's whistling to the bottom of the shaft even now.
And I would be willing to bet that the object of your devout political affections (Sarah Palin) would tell you to show some respect to John McCain and just vote for the ticket, period. Your insane bumper sticker idea suggests that Governor Palin lacks the good judgment you ascribe to her. Don't you think she saw something good and honorable in McCain in order to accept his invitation to be his running mate?
This madcap idea of yours not only disrespects John McCain, it disrespects Sarah Palin too, and you should end it here and now.
