Amy Check In To Fashion Rehab (Amy Winehouse)
The Fashion Time Magazine ^ | May 12th, 2008 | The Fashion Time Magazine

Posted on 05/12/2008 7:43:37 AM PDT by Mister Ghost

The harsh British press calls Amy Winehouse, “everyones favorite junkie,” and “everyone’s favorite crackhead.” Others who know her, are less flattering in their descriptions, with a list of slurs against Winehouse, that goes on and on. She is a tragic figure, a talented Pop Star with a death wish to die for, desperately in need of divine intervention. Her issues are so great, her father Mitch wants her committed. She’s a social disaster, a relationship disaster, and a fashion disaster, if she has a guardian angel watching over her, its wings are about ready to fall off.

Not a sight for sore eyes... Sadly, it seems a lot of talented singers and actors just lead troubled lives.

Other than hearing of her on FR I have never heard of her before nor heard one song, so how is it that she is such a music celebrity that we should care?

Sounds and looks to me like a meth/crack wh_re who someone likes taking pictures of.

Pity she’s such a tormented wreck, she does have a nice voice and a unique style. I hope she finds release from her personal demons, before she does herself in.

Took the words out of my mouth. I hear about her all the time — but the only thing I hear is that she’s a train wreck. She’s “oh-so-talented” but I am utterly ignorant of any of her cultural achievements.

Concert here: http://music.msn.com/amywinehouse?

Especially like Hey Little Rich Girl. The band and back up singers are excellent.

You don't need talent today. You have all these horrible pre-teen girls getting record contacts. All you need is money and a relative in the business and you can record and brag.

But, she is VERY talented. Unlike Britney Spears.

I think that's true. Slightly less true, but still worth saying, is the advice I would give any teen who wanted to be a pop star -- "Give up the singing lessons. They don't matter. Take dance lessons instead. If you want to be a world-famous singer, focus on the dancing."

Are those tats real or applied with Sharpie before every show?

I would rather encourage my daughter to become a Scientist or a Dr. In the end these girls are not going to become famous because they do not have talent.

Nothing special there. Sounds like one of those Morissette clones. She needs to take some vice lessons. Maybe with a little practice and sobriety she could sing back up for Ann and Nancy Wilson, Christine McVie, Pat Benatar, and Grace Slick. ( I am only considering rock acts here less we’d have to name about 100 other girls acts like Aretha, Tina, Reba etc... )

Never heard her before. She is great. To bad she doesn’t have some solid personhood to go with that talent. Thanks for the web site.

I suspect they're real,
but I know nothing about
her, never heard her,

and though I once drew
a cartoon that mentioned her,
I've never talked to

someone in real life
who's ever heard Amy sing.
(Some Freepers like her . . .)

I love her music, but I’m not surprised by this.

I love her album. I have listened to it so much I can’t believe I haven’t worn it out. Hopefully she will have a moment of clarity and seek the help she really needs.

There is a song out called “Mercy” by a girl named Duffy. It’s very Amy Winehouse-esque.

She needs to take some vice lessons.

From the sounds of things she's got quite enough vices that she's good at to keep her going.
