No doubt, Barry Obama's supporters are earnest and passionate about their guy. There are those that worry, though, that this passion is rooted primarily in a visceral, emotional attachment to the abstract, amorphous idea of Barry Obama. The idea of who this man is and why he was (as the fervent would claim) sent to us from the right hand of God the Father is different for everyone, unique to each individual supporter, and really only constitutes his or her personal passions, which they project onto their blank-slate/empty-suit faux-savior.

Barf! Barf! Barf! I can’t stand this guy! He needs to drop out of the race as he can’t win any big states and is the most arrogant person I have seen in a long time. I know some FRiends here love Obama for some reason, but don’t you realize how much he can’t stand most of us. Oops...all of us. McCain will do fine beating Hillary. I would not bet my paycheck on McCain beating Obama the “savior”.
Does this mean Pontius Hillary is about to crucify him?
If the only choice was between Obama and Hillary, I would take Hillary any day. Obama is Jimmy Carter. Hillary may be more evil, but Obama is dangerously stupid and naive.
the obama movement is the secular equivalent of a religious revival for people otherwise too cynical to have experienced a true one in their lives
CHeck out the utube video Obama Building a Religion. Powerful and frightening!
Obama is Jimmy Carter Pol Pot.
I'd say Obama is more evil than Hillary. Does anyone really think that after 20 years of swimming in the corrupt sewer of Chicago politics with fellow turds like Daly and Blagojevich that the man is naive? He is a manipulator of the system playing on his race to get the black vote, a white hating racist (anyone think that his wife's view is different than his? - her remarks help with the black vote), an achievement hating communist (helps with the resentful loser vote), and a freedom hating statist (helps with the liberal vote.) To assume that he is naive is in of itself naive. Hillary is just more transparent and (I shudder to say this) more honest.
I agree and disagree; I’d take Hillary any day over Obama, but I think he’s not stupid or naive. I think he is evil, a liar, a sneak, and the most dangerous man in the world after Ahmadinejad. I don’t believe anything he says and I am more and more convinced that he fully intends to do whatever it takes to trigger the collapse of the United States. He’s a true Manchurian Candidate and cannot be permitted access to the Oval Office.
I have not read any Freepers loving or liking Obama. However if I have to have my taxes raised, better Obama than McCain (same with Global warming) , at least Republicans will stand against tax increases then.
McCain is baldface lying about cutting taxes . In 2002 and 2003 he insured our taxes would go up in 2010 by insisting they expire and he knows as president he has no power over this.
Better lesson if Obama is president and finishes off the economy than MCain (If McCain was running as democrat I would think differently) ,
I thought of the Jimmy Carter connection too.
Actually he comes right out and says it. Last nite in Evansville, Indiana, he closed his speech with his usual line: "We will change this country, and CHANGE THE WORLD!"
Agreed! see post #8
A lot of people are starting to think that.
I do hope ALL understand just how dangerous Obama is, he will destroy America as we know it.

If it's the left's Christ figure, then it should read "Modern Day Anti-Christ Figure.
Many irreligious people tend to make government their religion, with their presidential candidate as their god. It's easier to project messiah-like qualities onto an unknown quantity, than it is to a flesh-and-blood human being.
Republicans, on the other hand, tend to prefer time-tested candidates. During the same period, Republicans have nominated: Ford, Reagan, Bush, Dole and Bush II.
The comparison is very revealing of the Democrat mindset.
