Ben Stein was just on Fox News with Geraldo. He was asked If ID versus Evolution was a "left, right thing". He responded,"No, It's an atheist versus a non-believer thing". Stein inadvertantly admitted that ID is a religious argument, not science!
The passage you quote is Darwin's rejection of eugenics. Is it your understanding that it means the opposite?
I wonder if the Turks used Darwin in their genocide of the Armenians... /s
It is nonsense to link a scientific theory from the mid-1800's to the practice of genocide, which humans have engaged in for millennia.
Radio Active Halo’s are fairly complex. I will summarize the basic problem that they pose and then link you to an article which will do a much better job than I can of explaining them. Basically, when certain radioactive isotopes decay to the next step in the radioactive chain they give off alpha particles with a certain amount of energy. These alpha particles discolour a ring around the decaying radioactive material. There will be different rings for the different stages. This is all noncontroversial. However, the problem for uniformitarianism is that in some locations a daughter isotope in the Polonium radioactive decay chain with an extremely short half life measured in microseconds for one of them has been found in solid rock without any rings from its parent isotopes. The entire supply of this isotope would decay in seconds (and the radiohalos could only form after the rock cooled.) So their appears to only be three explanations for how this could happen. 1) That the radioactive isotope was created instantly in the rock. 2) that the half life for this isotope was much slower in the past so that the rocks would have had time to cool before all of the material had decayed. Or 3) that somehow the radioactive material was able to find its way into the rock via contamination in cracks.
Obviously evolutionists prefer the third explanation and in some of the locations (where we are dealing with isotopes with halflifes measured in days) this appears to be a viable theory. However, for the isotope with a halflife measured in microseconds there is no time for this and it has been found in locations where there appears to have been no possibility for contamination. Anyway here is a link to a technical article which may help explain this better than I could. Its not the most helpfull article but it should help. http://www.icr.org/index.php?module=articles&action=view&ID=471
"How do you account for the fossil record?"
Requiring proof of the miraculous robs the faithful of an opportunity to prove themselves to God.
How can Hitler rightly assert that by killing Jews that he acted in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator?
Did National Socialism, as its foremost duty preserve and defend those basic principles of Christianity?
Where in scripture did Jesus Christ say fight? I thought he said, "He who lives by the sword, perishes by the sword."
He asserts a spiritual directive to fight against the Jews. Yet Paul, writing under the inspriation of the Holy Spirit said, "Hath God forgotten his people? God forbid, for I too am an Israelite of the tribe of Benjamin." Jesus said, " I send you out as sheep among wolves."
When Jesus went into the Temple to drive out the moneychangers, he acted in rightousness. He nowhere said to wage war and destroy a people. Hitlers' duty was to himself and his people, but he surely acted not as dutiful to God.
Catholics, in 1922 may well have considered Jews as pestilence, but it is not, nor was it ever taught in the Bible.
And finally, Hitlers' assertion that National Socialism stands for real Christianity, is the assertion of a prooven lunatic and mass murderer.
Pure and simply, Hitler was an occultist. He was well schooled in the stew-pot of Aryan god-men of Nietzsche. It was in the milieu of militarism and mysticism, stirred by Fabian neopaganism and seasoned with Nietzschean de-Christianization, that Adolph Hitler made his sudden assent to power. It was not as an ordinary political leader, however, not even as an extraordinary dictator. He was the Wagnerian hero, beyond morals, arisen to effect the Hegelian synthesis between Christianity and paganism-the Messiah of a New World Order. As Hitler said himself, "I am following the way shown me by Providence with the confidence of a sleepwalker. National Socialism is more than a religion; it is the will to create supermen. For hundreds of years...men will come from everywhere in the world to renew themselves, onece a year, in the marvelous atmosphere of Nurenberg."
Hitlers' rise to power seemed to have supernatural backing, according to Chamberlain as he said to Roosevelt. The world watched as an occult phenomenon invaded international politics. Even today, the world wrestles with the phenomenon that was Hitler, with all of his delusions of Aryan superiority; his dream and fanatical pursuit of a Nazi millennium, and his strange hypnotic power of oration. His hatred for Jews, black, and Gypsies and other non-aryians was only superceded by his obcession with the occult and his opposition of evangelical Christianity.
The occult connections have been exhaustively documented. Hitler was a member of the Thule Geselschaft, which had close ties with the Vril Society (still in existence today in India) continue to be sympathetic to Nazism today. The Thule Society was to effect the eventual merger of most of the rising mystical-occult groups in Europe. Occultism was to bring in a New World Order, with Hitler as its head. Hitler, on many occasions referred to it as the "Thousand Year Reich". Hitlers' Naziism was, like Marxsism deeply rooted in the occult. The Nazi movement was proclaimed to be a 'Revolution of the Spirit', and national socialism adopted the character of religious cults and retained these features until the bitter end of Hitler. The Nazi deity was of Aryan (Hindu) origin. In a grotesque parody of human perfection, people were asked to adore themselves as ikons of biologic perfection and they did this volunarily.
To exhaustively explore this matter would continue to clarify the fact that Histler was not Christian, even by the most liberal definition of a Christian. He was an outright occultist. History has confirmed this, notwithstanding the assertions of enemies of the Cross repeated misrepresentation that Hitler was a Christian. He was not.
I’m not going to ignore your response or the link you provided. I’m just not going to get to it this evening because I have to arise very early during the workweek. I will look at it, and I thank you for providing the link.
Has that, and the fossilization/sedimentation ever been tested to see if it can be reproduced? It seems like it should have happened within a timeframe that would make it feasible to re-create in the lab.
You might also want to check out the RATE project where ICR and AIG scientists have tried to identify more precisely some of the causes of errors in radioactive dating. You should also be able to find links to articles about it on AIG webpage with other evidence that points to a young earth or at least argues against uniformitarianism. For example, the amount of Sodium currently built up in the oceans is much lower than we would expect if the earth is billions of years old and we assume that it has been building up at a uniform rate. Here is a link to a non-technical article discussing some of the measurements which would predict a younger earth. Let me through in the caveat though that these measurement systems are subject to the same assumptions that I criticised radioactive dating for. So, I see them more as an argument against uniformitarianism than necessarily as arguments for a young earth. http://www.answersingenesis.org/docs/4005.asp
Lol, that is kind of funny.
I totally understand. I need to sign of and get to work on a paper myself. Have a great evening.
“Faith” is not merely believing something to be true. It’s putting your trust in a Person. Faith is relying on that Person, believing that He is kind, is in control, is sovereign. That’s what faith is for.
When people encourage you to place your faith in Christ, they don’t mean that you should merely believe He existed. Demons believe that. They’re challenging you to rely on Him, to put your trust in Him, to place your life in His hands.
I do believe science points to a Creator. After much research, I believe that this Creator is Jesus. Sounds wacky. But I’ve found no other explanation to be trustworthy.

Tell me, Soliton: How was it that you were able to come up with that clever response? Was it merely the reaction of various chemicals colliding with each other? Or is there something inside of your body that is really you? That “real” thing that’s doing the thinking — that’s invisible, and supernatural. Science points to your existence. I believe you’re real, Soliton.
Not very much, and none of it partucularly well supported.
I really don't mean to be disrespectful, but introducing demons into a scientific debate appears to be over the line.
——Yet, some here are blaming him for Nazi atrocities, or that he should have known better than to publish his results about birds.——
Hitler and his warped, evil mind are to blame for the genesis of Nazi atrocities. Darwin’s hypothesis that species evolve over time through natural selection had unforeseen consequences when men like Hitler used the ideas purported by him to advocate genocide through neo-Christian speeches to the populace of Germany.
‘If nature does not wish that weaker individuals should mate with the stronger, she wishes even less that a superior race should intermingle with an inferior one; because in such cases all her efforts, throughout hundreds of thousands of years, to establish an evolutionary higher stage of being, may thus be rendered futile.
But such a preservation goes hand-in-hand with the inexorable law that is the strongest and the best who must triumph and that they have the right to endure. He who would live must fight. He who does not wish to fight in this world, where permanent struggle is the law of life, has not the right to exist. ‘-— Hitler, Mein Kampf(tip of the hat to Texas Songwriter)
“The National Government will regard it as its first and foremost duty to revive in the nation the spirit of unity and cooperation. It will preserve and defend those basic principles on which our nation has been built. It regards Christianity as the foundation of our national morality, and the family as the basis of national life.” - Adolf Hitler, 1933
“Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.” - Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf
“My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God’s truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. To-day, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice... And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly it is the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people.” - Adolf Hitler, 1922
“The others in the past years have not had the blessing of the Almighty— of Him Who in the last resort, whatever man may do, holds in His hands the final decision. Lord God, let us never hesitate or play the coward, let us never forget the duty which we have taken upon us.... We are all proud that through God’s powerful aid we have become once more true Germans.” - Adolf Hitler, 1933
“The Catholic Church considered the Jews pestilent for fifteen hundred years, put them in ghettos, etc, because it recognized the Jews for what they were”.... I recognize the representatives of this race as pestilent for the state and for the church and perhaps I am thereby doing Christianity a great service by pushing them out of schools and public functions.” - Adolf Hitler, 1933
“National Socialism neither opposes the Church nor is it anti-religious, but on the contrary it stands on the ground of a real Christianity.... For their interests cannot fail to coincide with ours alike in our fight against the symptoms of degeneracy in the world of to-day, in our fight against a Bolshevist culture, against atheistic movement, against criminality, and in our struggle for a consciousness of a community in our national life... These are not anti-Christian, these are Christian principles! And I believe that if we should fail to follow these principles then we should to be able to point to our successes, for the result of our political battle is surely not unblest by God.” - Adolf Hitler, 1934(tip of the hat to Non-Sequitur)
I would say that Hitler proposed neo-Darwinism, but he essentially followed it to its logical conclusion. He even did this in a country that professed Christianity as its core value system. Jesus is not to blame, his message was corrupted and sold to a populace that was Christian in name only.
Darwin is not to blame and some might say that it was inevitable that Darwin’s work would have been brought about through other scientists eventually, and this is necessary progress for human development. Maybe even better that it happened when it did, now that there are much stronger weapons a tyrant like Hitler could use now.
——Maybe it’s better if I don’t. It looks an awful lot like someone trying to say something that don’t want to go on record as having actually said. It’s an election year, and I’m about at the end of my tolerance limit for that kind of thing already.——
In the craziest election year I’ve ever seen, it would be utterly cruel of me not to understand your point.
It has to do with the evolution of real-time process control in biologic systems. I'm 50 years old and type with two fingers, so producing the whole book on FR will take some time.
