The Obama camp has spent the better part of the weekend trying to quell the firestorm created by his haughty and condescending comments about why plebeians in small town America, in their bitterness over the souring economy, cling to such red-neck activities as owning guns and fulminating about illegal immigration. There are two important facets to this story: a) Obamas choice of venue for making his disparaging remarks, and, b) his immediate attempts to clarify his statement. An analysis of both tells us a great deal about the hitherto relatively unknown two-term state senator from Illinois.
Consider the venue for his original remarks. Obama made the comments at an April 6 fundraiser in San Francisco. The remarks were made, when Obama said workers in Pennsylvania and elsewhere who have seen factories shut down get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who arent like them. It would have been one thing if he had made the remarks in Pennsylvania, but making the comments in front of a receptive audience in one of the reliable enclaves of unrepentant Liberalism was not terribly circumspect. Perhaps in his exuberance in being amongst fellow travellers, Obama let his guard down, and spoke

Left out the religion aspect. Obama basically said that religion is the opiate of the masses. Heaven knows where he got that idea ...
You see, the problem is that the Obamas have had two only audiences in their lives, both narrow and, worse, fawning: one, apparently a highly politicized and often angry Chicago African-American constituency that believes in AIDs conspiracies and the pathological role of the United States, and, two, a guilt-ridden elite white audience in the Ivy League and the media who does not object to, or in fact enjoys, being told why America is the sort of awful place Rev. Wright depicts.
“...factories shut down get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who arent like them.”
According to Obambi, if your factory shuts down you become a typical right wing fanatic. Ya know a Clinton voter. It hasn’t been remarked enough that this is really a stupid, illogical observation.
Little wonder now why the lack of transparency in his fundraisers.
good point
I forgot that Obama also ridiculed the weekly exercise in false consciousness by small town America when they attend church every Sunday.
And everyone forgets that Obama is the chosen one come to punish the sinners and lead the stupid to the promise land.
Shame on Hill for repeating what Obama said.
Of course I still love the Hillary healthcare statement “all these shurkers will have to pay their share.” She said this after stating that she would solve the healthcare issue while her husband was in office.
My momma was a Kansan, my daddy was a king, A prince I am, you want me...in your imagining. I'm never in the ghetto, I'm never in the 'hood, My Harvard homies love me, you'll never be this good.
Barack Obama become "Borat" Obama
It is getting to be that it does not matter which Democrat, Hussein of the Clintons, is the Candidate in November. The fate will be McGovern. Both of the candidates have problems stumbling over their tongues. Hussein is shooting himself full of holes even while having a fawning MSM. The Clintons are really no different from what they were in 1992 but now they no longer have the fawning MSM. And MSM is shooting itself in the face by being partisan between two of their own.
SnObama, to me.
