I never thought I would find myself defending Hillary Clinton, but there are times when we must all simply bite the bullet. However, why am I, a man, the only one to figure out the reason for Hillary Clinton's exaggeration when it came to her trip to Bosnia where she told reporters she was dodging sniper bullets on an airport tarmac. It's really very simple...

“I’m a pathological liar. And that’s the fault of men. You see, it’s a man’s world, and I’m desperate to fit in. My constant lying, on almost every subject imaginable, is really not my fault. Dr. Sigmund Freud told me that himself.” — Hillary Clinton.

If you can accept a lie...just so she can fit in a man's world, then I'd say you're not concerned with "character".
And soldiers and military life...It's all about "character".
P.S. I'm a woman in an almost exclusive male profession....and I didn't lie to get where I am.

Hillary Clinton to Chelsea, when moving into the WH, and saw little Chelsea, talking to one of the Marine Corps Honor Guard: "Don't talk to the help."

I’m afraid I must dissent. There are any number of female soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, National Guard members, contractors, who have taken fire. That isn’t a “man’s world,” it’s the real world. Don’t claim it if you haven’t earned it applies to politicians too.

I was just hanging around the water-cooler the other day listening to some guy talking about how he dodged sniper fire in Bosnia--or was it the copy machine? Anyway, the point is, we thought
he was lying, too, but because of company policy I had to tell him he was "misspeaking." The boss told us we'd be able to resolve our differences more easily if we developed our feminine side, so we all went back to his place and had a pillow fight in our underwear.
Just like girls do.
