Pure Vanity!
Today marks a decade of membership in this fine institution.
It is significant, personally because it demonstrates permanence and reliability in a rapidly-changing world.
The web has certainly sped up our interaction with people and events. Stuff comes and goes so quickly that permanence and reliability are almost novel concepts.
I want to take this opportunity to thank Jim and anyone else who works to keep this site going.
I depend on FreeRepublic every day and it is always there keeping me informed as the world speeds by.
Congratulations on your first decade.
Happy Freepday!
Happy Freeperversary!
Congratulations!
Newb :P
Kudos!
Happy Freeperversary! (I plagerized the term ;))
FR Rocks Ping!!
From a relative newbie (only 3+ years here!)
:-)
Congratulations, KR! :-) May God bless you with many more decades at FR!
Congrats!
Its also my ninth anniversary today!
Great ‘vanity’ — and congratulations!
I am right behind you and share your appreciation for FR. It has made a profound difference in my life. Bless JimRob!!
Lotsa decaders this year! I tried to sort through who was what once and IIRC, at the start of 98 there were somewhere between 500-1000 freepers.
I signed in Oct (but I had started a few months earlier and lost my logon), and am in the 13,000 range.
So there were probably around 15,000 Freepers at the end of 98.
Was gonna start a Freeper geezer decade thread once but figured it’d fall by the wayside.
Congrats!
