McCain cuts deal with delegates to hand WV victory to Huckabee

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee enjoys the first victory on Super Tuesday for the Republicans as he takes all 18 delegates in the state of West Virginia, winning 52% of the vote, although rumors abound regarding the McCain campaign's possible instruction to their delegates to switch to his side.

Mitt Romney finished second with 47% of the vote, followed by McCain at 1%.

Rumors are circulating that the McCain campaign instructed their delegates to defect over to Mike Huckabee's side as to avoid a Romney victory. Nationally, McCain is significantly ahead of Huckabee and can afford giving the state's 18 delegates to Huckabee, but certainly not to Romney, who was originally in the lead when polling began in West Virginia by a wide margin and trails McCain nationally by only 17 delegates.

I feel confident that if McCain is the nominee, he won’t win and hopefully a lesson will be sent to all others who want to somehow merge the democratic and republican party into one big change agent dialectic consensus building party of mush!

Also known as a one-party political system, modeled on East Germany's.

And you and I will be sent to "re-education" seminars at work. Oh, wait -- that's already going on.

Camps later for everybody -- just for Rush and Levin and those guys, at first.

“I think Huck is Slick’s boy in the GOP, that Huckabee is in fact a Clinton catspaw.”

Bingo! I have thought that from the beginning.

If you think you could have done what McCain has done, you have absolutely no concept of the rough and tumble of electoral politics.

Give the Devil his due.

If you can support McCain and Huckabee without hurling you are probably safe.

I don’t see a thing wrong with one candidate backing another to further their cause.

I don't either but that is not what has happened here. Huck knows full well he is not a viable candidate but he has lied claiming that he is not in the race to help McCain, when he fully is in for that exact reason. Huck is a liar and he is probably doing it for some reason that is destructive to his party and his country. He has no honor.

Huck is the whore and McCain is the customer. Wonder what he’s paid Huck?

After the transaction is done, the John (heh.) will bolt leaving Huck to ponder how he thought he was a whore but turned out to be a slut.

To you Huck-ster supporters

McCain was created by Fred and Fredheads. Huck was competing for the top slot until he lost in SC due to Fred. I said at the time that it insured a McCain victory. karma is a beotch.

“Or, he’s too honest to participate.

No dishonesty at all. First round produced no winner.
Delegates are allowed to switch. McCain’s delegates are
trying to win the election. Huck wants to win as many
delegates as possible. Both their interests were served.
And Romney... no powerpoint on this one...

Corrupt? Evil? 85% conservative voting record, war hero... and you throw him to the dogs.......are you just nuts?...what IS ALL this nasty frothing at the mouth?

You have no credibility established on this forum. You joined 6 days ago and you act as if you've been around for years. You don't try to convince people to support McCain - you just shout and accuse.

We are not spoiled children. We expect some magnaminity after the Florida win. We’ve received none. Indeed, your senior senator, also known as Johnny-One-Note, had the sound judgment to continue to peddle the outright lie regarding Iraqi timetables at the Reagan Library debate.

I watched that debate expecting McCain to assume the mantle of the front-runner and to begin the healing process across the GOP ideological spectrum. Instead, he revealed the essence of who he is: volatile, nasty, pig-headed and narcissistic.

We are about to nominate a 72-year old man who can’t even string three coherent sentences together and put him up in a series of televised debates with Barack Obama. Election over.

McCain is a guaranteed loser in November and all the stale names from the GOP past that he can rattle off won’t get him across the finish line in televised debates.

“Huck knows full well he is not a viable candidate...”

Is Ron Paul? Is Alan Keyes? But they were both on my ballot today running for the Office of the Presidency.

that pic is of the only one in hanoi that treated pows like they were humans.

What? Mai Vai On treated POW's like they were humans? Do you describe being pulled from a lake after being shot down, beaten and stabbed with a bayonet being "treated like they were humans."? Because that is what John McCain said the person pictured here, Mai Vai On, among others did to him.

I'm no fan of John McCain, but you trolls are really pushing it.

I want my guys to be the toughest, meanest SOBs in the room when it comes to beating the other side.

Just wait until the general election. All of a sudden McCain will be lovey dovey with RATS. He always has been. I want my candidate to win with honor.

If THAT is true, don’t anyone let Lesley Graham find out, it would take six months to unknot his panties.

Legal or not, it's still wrong and reeks of Clintonian politics. Here's hoping for a monumental backlash.

Blame it on the Freepers who were begging for a brokered convention. This was a brokered convention and look what we got.
