The other day, Jonah put some distance between himself and NRs endorsement of Mitt Romney. Id like to do the same. Romney strikes me as impressive, but also as terribly flawed. Over the next couple of days, Ill do my best to explain.
In the meantime, one observation.
Endorsing Romney, the editors explained that they had decided against Fred Thompson largely because Thompson has never run any large enterprise. This brought to mind another Republican candidateone whose management experience, like that of Fred Thompson, was limited to having served as a partner in a law firm.
Abraham Lincoln.
Fred ping!
I watched the debate yesterday, and Romney struck me as being just too slick for prime time.
Did you hear Rush just eviscerate Romney with his own words at the debate?
First he played a clip of Romney that sounded like he was right on the conservative bandwagon, then he played the “I don’t stay awake nights worrying about rich people’s taxes...” part. Rush then feigned disbelief that it was Romney saying that. It was very effective. He slammed Huck several times as well.
2ndDivisionVet, or another poster, can you give me a short lesson in how to post a thread. Haven’t done so before, and I don’t know where to find the information. Thanks in advance.
Waiy, I’m very stupid. I just looked over at the bottom of your thread and there was the data.
Ask and you shall receive.
Pretty soon people are going to be saying that Fred ran a brilliant campaign. Grassroots takes time to foster and grow but once it does look out. It gets back down to what Fred has said all along. Its between him and the people. Its about the people.
Alot of politicians just dont get that ...they think its about NY PR firms.
Since the debacle debate yesterday a lot of people have donated and signed onto the support of Fred.
Heres hope that people begin to see the light.
Wonderful!
I read my mind when he said that Huckabee’s answers could have come from John Edwards.
Er... he read my mind. You know what I mean.

They’ll also say that yesterday’s debate was the day Fred won the election.
Here is what the best caller of the day on RUSH’s program, Bob in New Orleans, said:
“I was excited, very, very excited to see that debate yesterday. I saw a school yard bully step out and say “Hey, we’re going to play this game,” and I saw four politicians raise their hand and wave the white flag and say no, and then I saw my president stand up, I saw my president stand up and say, “Hell no, I’m not going to play your game today. We’re not going to play your game today,” and then I saw the crisis negotiator and the corporate CEO and preacher all get in line behind that leader, behind that president and say, “No, that’s right, we’re not going to play that game today.” And this is the first time I’ve been this excited about a presidential candidate since 1984, Rush.”
Couldn’t agree more...and O’Reilly didn’t even include him on the online poll.
The MSM is doing its best to dissuade the electorate from FRED THOMPSON? WHY?

I agree! And here is the great video ad including Freds “moment” in case anyone missed it! :)

Fred has arrived.
Some might say his campaign was “lackluster” and “disappointing.” Yeah, he started off slow. But something inside him has caught fire again in the last few weeks, and reached a rolling inferno at yesterday’s debate. Fred will start moving up in the polls at just the right pace...not too soon only to crash later.
Or...perhaps that’s been Fred’s plan, all along...
Sandbagging.
One of the oldest ploys in the book, but his opponents never even saw it coming.
If I have to choose between executive experience and foreign policy experience, I’ll take foreign policy (along with a staunch, rather than “flexible” personality).
Things are Changing!
This is Huge!
