Windows Vista, the Windows ME of the decade.
Gotta disagree with you there. I've been fixing computers literally since I was 8 years old. Vista is a far cry from Windows ME. Windows ME was not ready when it was released. Vista was delayed incessantly, but I've been using it for six months and I've been somewhat impressed by how few problems it has, especially running software written for XP.
I was concerned about Vista being like Windows 95 was since Vista doesn't run on the NT kernel. Windows 95 had problems because it no longer ran on the DOS kernel, so there were compatibility issues. However, that has not proven to be a major problem, and I've experienced few problems since owning it, and all of the ones that did occur were not difficult to fix or work around.

Good video to me. Sure wish our new laptop had come with XP and not Vista.

Another happy & satisfied Microslop customer!
It's a bootiful thang, aren't it?

I have to agree. Except for a few programs everything has worked fine. I started using my first Vista copy in Feb, and have had very few problems. People hate change, and people love to hate Microsoft, and I have heard people gripe every time a new OS comes out.

WinME was ready, I run it as my primary OS and have since April ‘04...yes, one install this entire time. It’s quite stable and really has some things I prefer over 98, if you’re staying with the 9x line.
*However*, like any of Microschlock’s stuff, it shipped with far too much unnecessary crap enabled, and no good way to rip it out...by default. There’s a little program you can use to disable much of the junk, which makes it rock solid, and relatively light on resources.
