It looks like the GOP Lucy has pulled the football away from the Democrat Charlie Brown by SUPPORTING loony left Dennis Kucinich in his bid to advance HR 333, his bid to impeach Dick Cheney. In a completely unexpected move that shocked the House Democrat leadership, the Republicans voted pretty much as a block AGAINST tabling the Kookcinich resolution and it now goes to the House Judiciary Committee where Kookcinich's fellow kook, John Conyers, is itching to hold hearings on impeachment. This is a total embarrassment to the House leadership of Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer who just wish that Kookcinich and his dopey impeachment resolution would go away. Instead they were forced, by the Republican move against tabling, to avoid open debate on the House floor by sending HR 333 to the Judiciary Committee. And now the left is simultaneously angry at the Republicans for FOOLING them by supporting the impeachment resolution and also at Pelosi and Hoyer for attempting to kill the impeachment resolution. You can see the Charlie Brown Left in shock at being played for fools in this DUmmie THREAD as well as in this DUmmie THREAD. The KOmmies are also in a state of shock at the Republican support of the Kookcinich resolution as you can see in their THREAD beautifully titled, "Kucinich is Wrecking the Dem 2008 Strategy." Finally, for those who think the leftwing kooks are pretty much confined to DUmmieland and KOmmieland, I present this Washington Post comment THREAD on a WaPo story about this. Look carefully and in addition to the loony left rants on that WaPo comments section, you will see a Lucy/Charlie Brown analogy by a certain author of a "Hate Site." So let us now watch the left in an uproar over the impeachment conundrum that the Lucy GOP has forced them into in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, giving a big shout out to all the many new DUFU fans brought here by Leftwing obsession with this "Hate Site," is in the [brackets]:

If it were up to Conyers, he would have brought Impeachment proceedings forward months ago, but Pelosi will not allow it. She will probably stop him again. We will probably hear no more about it, even though millions in this country feel Impeachment is the only way to save our Democracy.

I think people are missing a much more sinister move by the Republicans in what they did. I think they are actually trying to give Kucinich a boost in order to split the Democratic vote should he decide to run as an independent. The only embarrassment to the Democrats is that they didn't back this resolution. They were supposedly sent to Congress to make a change, and by tabling impeachment of the most corrupt vice president in history, they are WORSE than the Republicans because they are allowing him to stay in place. Kucinich is the only politician with the courage and integrity to DO SOMETHING. Politics in America today was in the Twilight Zone, but don't underestimate the Republican dirty tricks.

Actually, the second vote to move the resolution to committee for 'consideration' accomplished what the DIMocrats set out to do to begin with. Conyers had already come out (quoted on Fox & elsewhere) to say the resolution was a bad idea and not wanted at this time. He, Pelosi & Hoyer are in lockstep on this. As committee chair, he'll see to it that it dies a quick death.
