The Fly Wrangler
My brother tells me I have too much time on my hands. The other brother says "You need to get a life".
I tried. I opened a worm ranch.
It went smooth however, I hated branding time. Each of my worms had "Bobs quality worms" branded on their side, so I could identify them.
But then the thunderstorm came up.
All of my worms stampeded. Gone. I was heartbroken.
All I had was my computer, and adverising for my lost worms.
And then a fly landed on my monitor screen. Just a common house fly. The F-16 fighter pilot of the insect world.
I noticed that the fly took great interest in my cursor. My cursor is black and it resembles the wings of a fly.
I moved the cursor closer to the fly on the screen. He jumped on it, I guess thinking it was a girl fly. That was pretty funny, so I kept doing it.
Then I found out I could chase the fly around the screen with the cursor. Apparently they do not like other flys in their area.
If you get them excited about the cursor, they will follow it over the screen.
If you type a couple of periods on the screen, they will fly off and not return until you erase the periods. I think they feel it is eyes watching them.
After dark, at night, turn off all the lights in the house except the monitor. They will be attracted to the monitor, for hours of fun by you.
Here is what else I have found out about flies while wrangling them on my monitor.
They have small brains (no remarks now) and are very aggressive. If you scare them off the screen, they will return with a vengence.
Young small ones are much more aggressive than older ones.
Now I have lost intertest in recovering my worms, and have now started training my flies.
If I can get a screen shot, or better still, a video of the flies playing with my cursor, I will post it on youtube and send the link.
