Duncan Hunter Calls for Iran Strike Soon
Bar Of Integrity ^ | FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE--Aug 31, 2007 | Michael Gallops

Posted on 09/01/2007 5:47:17 AM PDT by Calpernia

Dallas, TX—Responding to comments by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that he is prepared to fill the “power vacuum” in Iraq, former House Armed Services Chairman and Republican presidential contender Duncan Hunter challenged the Bush administration to step up plans for a strike against Iran.

Commenting to a group of veterans and supporters, Hunter explained, “Iran has made their intentions abundantly clear in the Middle East, specifically with respect to military action against Israel. Never before in American history has a nation so blatantly engaged in saber-rattling without facing serious military reprisals from the U.S.” He continued, “The White House recently declared Iran’s Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization for their obvious support for the terrorist insurgency in Iraq. They are aiding and abetting the killing of our military service men and women. In my book, that’s an act of war and such action ought to have military consequences. Responding in hollow political or diplomatic rhetoric only encourages more affronts from Iran.”

Rep. Hunter has served on the House Armed Services Committee since his election to Congress in 1980 and has been that committee’s chairman for four years. Serving a critical role during the Reagan Administration, he helped establish and maintain the U.S. Strategic Defense Initiative. Hunter led a delegation with Rep. Henry Hyde to the Eastern Block during the Cold War stand-off to press President Reagan’s policy of solidarity. Hunter also led the Republican Congress in rebuilding the U.S. military after the Clinton Administration’s devastating cuts and slashes to critical defense personnel and materiel.

Duncan Hunter will cap off his tour through Texas with a speech Saturday at the statewide Texas Republican Presidential Straw in Ft. Worth, where he is heavily favored.

Don’t think for a minute that Hunter is not serious about striking Iran. He is the only one dead serious about it

A) Acts of international terror (Kadaffy)
B) Directly and/or indirectly causing the injury or death of our military in the theater of operations while working overtime to develop nuclear arms. (DinnerJacket)

* One of these things isn’t like the other. One of these things isn’t quite the same. One of these things demands tough talk and a sense of urgency. Can you guess which one?

Mad Mahmoud is a charmer. Dan Rather was ready to join his harem.

So was Mike Wallace.

What would Ronald Reagan have done?

Now undertand, Reagan is one of my heros however we were hit several times and Reagan did NOTHING. He pulled our troops out...he didn't lift a military finger against the terrorist.

I’m sure the liberals would be thrilled. (sarc) They’d prefer to just let Iran aid the enemy and fill the power vacuum in Iraq. They could care less what happens to Israel. I agree with Duncan Hunter. I hate sending out more troops, but has to be done needs to be done.

That is a truly disgusting visual. Glad I didn't check in until after dinnertime, lol

>>>...and fill the power vacuum in Iraq

That is exactly what they want. Hence the ‘bring our troops home’ crowd.

No troops need to be involved at this point. Strategic air strikes against known military targets should send the proper message.

Iran will strike back. There are US troops close by. They need to be thumped, but I doubt if it will be easy. The euroweenies will be of little help. If Iran throws bombs at Israel what happens then?
