.............. AND ....
.........
So there I was.... wondering what the "ideal" ticket would look like in the '08 Presidential race..
As many of you know from previous posts I was looking for a Duncan Hunter / Fred Thompson ticket.
I later scratched Fred Thompson off my "dream team" list for reasons discussed in other threads, and have been "searching" for someone to put in the VP slot of my "wish list".
Well Sarah Palin's name came up in a recent discussion, and I can't believe that I never thought about her as VP material before --- but after further considetation I am seriously thinking I might I have finally found my DREAM TEAM TICKET.
Looking for some FReeper input on this idea......
Thanks !! and here is a link..
Official BIO for Gov. Sarah Palin (Alaska)
I’m also going to contribue to McCain’s campaign, and write a note that I am contributing because he picked a STRONG pro-lifer, Sarah Palin!
It's about time, Dave!
Where the hell have you been?
Just kiddin', pal. I think I can kick-start a 747 now, but I'll bring the Amazon Brigade with me...
The fight is on! Would you beautiful ladies please get in here and kick our asses? Uh, not you, Pete ................. FRegards
>>Im still of the mindse,t a leader of the Presidential magnitude, should be someone strong, like Duncan Hunter.<<
Interesting. I firmly agree with you.
Now, what I would like you to do is look at her record in politics. Ignore that it is her. Ignore her sex, her race, etc. Just look at the deeds and tell me if you think the person who did those things was, as defined in our current political climate, was “strong”.
If so, why? If not, why not?
I’m not voting for her as CIC. She is a woman. That is it.
k
I might add that if this government was run the way I think it should be, not only would she not be in the running, but I would take away womens right to vote.
I’m not kidding.
But since THAT cat is out of the bag, I’m going to vote for the best candidate.
I think of all the people I spoke with today, I was the only woman that wouldn’t vote for her, correction, my mom too. The rest were men. Unfortunately most of the group were people working for McCain’s campaign. They are now shocked with what to do.
Calpernia,
I never imagined that McCain would actually pick her since she is far more qualified to be President that HE is... IMHO.. but since we have her now I am starting to actually get a little excited about this campaign... I still think it should be Hunter/Palin .... one of the reasons she would do so well as VP is because the VP is the President of the Senate — and in such a role she would be fantastic —— and she would not hesitate to push for CONSERVATIVE legislation even if it means disagreeing with McCain !!!
David
Gonzo,
If you have read any of my postings since John McCain became the nomminee you will know that I was and still am VERY UPSET with the Republican electorate for putting us in this position -— he was the LAST one on my list... .. and I am still not over that yet... but there is a bit of hope here with Palin on the ticket.... I even made the comment recently that no matter WHO McCain picked I could not excited about the campaign... I never imagined that he would pick Palin —— since SHE is more qualified to be PRESIDENT than he is..
Once again —— things that make you go HMMMMMM
FReegards,
David
I could have been swayed to agree with a Hunter/Palin ticket.
But on a McCain/Palin ticket, she has a VERY high chance as ending up as POTUS.
THAT is what bothers me.
Hey Sun! Good to see you! God bless!
It is what it is.
I mean, if we had eggs, we could have bacon and eggs . . . . if we had bacon.
>But once THAT is out of the bag, I’m going to vote for the best candidate.<
That’s a relief! GO SARAH PALIN! God is good!
>THAT is what bothers me.<
Is this the same Calpernia I used to know so well? The good Lord has sent us His reprieve, just when everything looked so hopeless! This lady is one smart cookie. Alaska loves her - America will love her, too!
Governor Palin is certainly better than the alternatives that were being pushed on FR lately....LIEberman or FLIP Romney, among others.
For the record I voted for Sarah Palin in the FR poll, but was disapointed that only 40% of FReepers agreed with me.. I would like to see a new FR poll asking how many FReepers are happy with Sarah Palin.. I bet it would be 90% the same as her approval ratig in Alaska....
On another note I wonder if anyone is making bumber stickers that say Vote for Sarah PALIN for VP... because come November that is what I will be doing... John McCain is tha “baggage” that comes with that vote.. and then in 2012 we (THE GOP) can regroup and consider are options at that time.. but for now.. I am fully on board with Sarah Palin as VP ——
now.... here is a line I have not used in a while
TOWARD VICTORY !!!
Note New Tag Line
Alaska should love her. Any state would.
Now, think about this.
How does China view women?
How does Russia view women?
Mid East?
What would be more affective in presenting negotiations? Someone like Duncan Hunter or Sarah Palin?
She can never shake a Muslim’s hand, she is haram. She won’t be able to look many Muslims in the eye. She will probably even have to where a hajab. There are rooms and buildings she can not enter.
How will any Mid East negotiations go?
How will tough decisions go for human life negotiations? She is a woman. Her nature is nurturing as it should be. Is she going to be able to watch a video like what happened to Daniel Pearl and make the right decision? I sure as hell couldn’t. Nor would I ever want to be hardened to.
Being POTUS is about a heck of a lot more than drilling ANWAR and Gun Rights. There are some places women don’t need to be. That is why we have men. And there are places men don’t need to be, hence us. Men and women bring a balance.
God bless you too!!!
Should Sarah Palin accede to the presidency, I am certain she has the good sense to appoint the best persons to deal with the hands on part of negotiations with these nations. I expect she would call on men like Duncan Lee Hunter to represent her internationally.
Doesn’t matter. They would be surrogates for a woman. You are thinking with western perceptions. These cultures are different.
