Duncan Hunter / Sarah Palin Ticket ?? -- Thinking Out Loud - By: FReeper David Osborne
David C. Osborne (My PERSONAL thoughts) ^ | 30 August 2007 | David C. Osborne

.............. AND ....

.........

So there I was.... wondering what the "ideal" ticket would look like in the '08 Presidential race..

As many of you know from previous posts I was looking for a Duncan Hunter / Fred Thompson ticket.

I later scratched Fred Thompson off my "dream team" list for reasons discussed in other threads, and have been "searching" for someone to put in the VP slot of my "wish list".

Well Sarah Palin's name came up in a recent discussion, and I can't believe that I never thought about her as VP material before --- but after further considetation I am seriously thinking I might I have finally found my DREAM TEAM TICKET.

Looking for some FReeper input on this idea......

Thanks !! and here is a link..

...the same will hold true for Duncan Hunter — no matter how many folks say “I think he is the best candidate, but he can’t win” — the PEOPLE will decide in the end... and IMHO — the people WILL GLADLY welcome Duncan Hunter once they take the time to consider the options

Sorry. The MSM seemed to want McCain and the GOP was too happy to comply.

I think this is not the time for a woman on the Republican ticket. Last time would have been right(except that Cheney was really the only choice given the circumstances) or next time. As a reaction to the Democrats and Clinton, it is not good. Santorum was probably the best choice or a male governor (NOT Crist). The Republicans need this time around to be especially the picture of that "Daddy" party in contrast to the Democrat extreme mommies. We don't need to attract the Hillary! women. We need them to stay home rather than become a group to whom McCain thinks he owes his election.

On the plus side, given the increased chance that the VP will become P it will be good that the first female P would be Republican- so long as she is a Woman President the way Thatcher was a Woman Prime Minister. If she were to become president she would quickly face international crises that A man might well not have to deal with as the Russians and the Saracens move to test the Woman severely. Thatcher had her test in the Falklands. A President Palin would face the Russians invading Poland or the paynim nuking Rome.

Looks pretty good. It's sure a lot classier than those horrors that became *Sore-Loserman* signs a few years back!

Congratulations David. I already had to apologize to ONE FReeper already for my doubts about this woman. But the more I hear about her, the more I like her.

Let’s just hope McCain finds a place for Duncan Hunter in his administration. Director of Homeland Security sounds like a good job for him!

back to work??? —— While I am likely to vote for McCain/Palin in November I am still not ready to “work” for this ticket.. although I am far more likely to now..

FReegards,

David

Well, after all, you got Palin her gig as VP, though I wish your first choice for the top job had also come through.

Neither have I necessarily decided to vote for McCain, though it's a lot more likely than if he'd picked Romney. But the best Ive come up with so far for a campaign tune has been *I can vote McCain with no handlebars, no handlebars, no handlebars....*

Lordy, I despise that song....

That's right, Dave, and it would be a crying shame if McCain/Palin lost because Republicans and conservatives sat on their hands on election night. I know several who where threatening to do just that. Maybe this new development will change things. It has to, or we'll be facing a true calamity with an Obama presidency.

I don't know if Sarah Palin fully understands how nasty things are going to get in the next couple of months, but maybe people will get steamed up about seeing this fine woman savaged by the liberal attack machine. I already am!

My irony is I am working for the ticket and I’m not voting for the ticket. Do you know how depressing this is?

>>>Conservatives are desperate for some sign from McCain that he would not destroy conservatism in the GOP.

I know a few that have been waiting a lot longer than us.

David, I have to admit - I did some day-dreaming about the same kind of Pres/vp ticket.

Any word about whether Hunter will be running for gov of California in the future?

In today’s political environment, yes Hunter and Palin could be viewed as a best scenario. Many independents and Hillary voters would have come over to our side. It may still be the case. Only the really delusional are going to vote for Obi from Nairobi and his attacked dog.

I am so excited about this selection! Yesterday or the day before I chose Palin in a poll. Sent McCain another $50 with the provision he listen to the lady, and appoint Duncan Lee Hunter as Secretary of Defense. I think Ms Palin could be America’s Margaret Thatcher.

Anyone else want to pitch in? John McCain 2008, Post Office Box l6ll8, Arlington, VA. 222l5

Go Sarah Palin!

Duncan Hunter said that God still loves our country.

Here’s a recent article about Palin:
