Exactly. This jerk paper could just as easily have published the screaming headline:
"PENTAGON PLANS NUCLEAR STRIKE ON MOSCOW, BEIJING, PYONGYANG, TEHRAN, ISLAMABAD,(add your own)..."
This is hysteria reminiscent of the Reagan years, when the U.S. was accused of planning to blow up the USSR with Pershing IIs from Germany, 6 minutes away fom Moscow.
Sometimes it's good to let the enemy know what they're getting into beforehand.
This is one of those times. This London Times story has all the earmarks of a backchannel message: delivered on page 1.
Just recently, we practiced dropping bombs on North Korea. And I think we just got approval from Japan to launch attacks from their territory (or, perhaps, to land the big bad bombers after a successful mission over North Korea, after take-off from Guam?).

I came to this conclusion a while ago. Either you believe his threats or you don't. If you believe him he must be obliterated. If we decide to wait for him to show his hand we could have 1 million dead americans on our hands. I vote for a few million dead Iranians, just in case he's serious.
Even a "pinpoint" nuke strike on Iran mean we can kiss our 401k's goodbye, IMO!

I'm with you. I think we're in a major cultural and strategic war in some ways bigger than WWII. I think both the Muslims AND the left (including the so called "liberal" democrats and MSM "enemedia" want the end of America and Western Civilization.
I vote for me and us over them.

Good points...but.
It would end all discussion of the "Paper Tiger" theory they've been operating under the last 30 years. This will make some of these nuts think twice, they claim to worship death anyway. What are we going to do make them MORE radical?
Fair warning to the civilians has been issued, get out because you're leader has threatened nukes against Israel and the USA. These countries take his threats seriously and are going to wipe out your nation in a quick decisive war. Head for the hills and don't blame us that your leader threatened to kill us. If I walk into your house with a gun and threaten to kill you I wouldn't be too shocked if you killed me.
I prefer this to an ideological motivation. He wants more hits. So what?
