These are my co-workers. Very nice folks, in most other regards. But stark, raving lunatics, nevertheless. I urge all freepers to homeschool if possible.

Did you respond to them, or just let them go unchallenged?

I've noticed lefties on talk radio speaking a lot more about putting Saddam back in power in the last few days. It must be a new talking point for them.

Next time, speak up and make yourself heard. These people usually have no facts whatsoever to back up their cliches.

Well, I admire your courage, but I wouldn't have confronted them. I think they're terribly wrong to discuss politics in the workplace to begin with, and you've likely done nothing but bought yourself a daily helping of cold shoulder.
Put in that position, I usually say something like, "I'm a righty" or "should we really be talking about that here?"

I put mine in a Christian school. Tuition hurts the budget something awful... but I'd rather raise morally right kids that subject them to the trash in public school.
Also, their math scores jumped 35 percentage points the first year (from a low F to a high D) and this year, my youngest is making straight As, my middle child is a solid C+ all around, and my oldest is now getting a C in Math with everything else A's and B's. Nationally the schools is testing 1 year, 7 months ahead of their grade levels so I'm am just as happy as can be.

No offense to you, perfect lady, but this is one of the reasons why I homeschool.
People with these reasoning, analytical and fact-gathering skills are qualified to teach my kids how . . .????

Sigh.
I'm in northern California and we have the same bunch of mindless chattering loons here. I have given up on having a rational conversation around here with anyone but my husband.

You are listening to school teachers. I know, they are your colleagues. Most school teachers are as dumb as a box of rocks. They are there because the curriculum in college for elementary teachers is as simple as the one for Psychology. They are all Union supporters, Democrats, liberals or all of the mentioned. Many are arrogant because they spend all day lording over children that know little of the truth. I have little respect for teachers in my area because of their arrogance, beliefs, and poor education and lack of motivation to better our children.
