The Democratic National Committee issued a statement alleging that the scandal surrounding Rep Mark Foley (R-Fla) demonstrates a lack of leadership in the Republican Party.
You didnt see people resigning in disgrace for these kinds of scandals when the Democratic Party was in the majority, Howard Dean, Chairman of the DNC, said. We kept things under control.
The statement went on to list people who were able to avoid resigning in disgrace when Democrats held the majority: Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass), Rep Gerry Studds (D-Mass), Rep. Jim Bates (D-Calif), Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass), and Pres. Bill Clinton (D-Ark).
The careers of these fine men were protected so they could continue their important work in government, said Dean. The record clearly shows that it is the Republicans who are so corrupt they have to resign.
The statement went on to urge voters to vote Democrat to put an end to the Republican culture of corruption.
In related news, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif), currently Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, promises that the long nightmare of corruption and fornication that has plagued the government since Republicans gained the majority in 1994 will come to an end if Democrats retake control. Look at whats happened since 1994, said Pelosi. Weve had cavorting with interns in the White House, e-mail sex with House Pages, weve had bribes stashed in the freezer. The place is out of control with Republicans running the show. Such things will be unheard of when Im Speaker.

They're getting cocky.
I think this is a joke.
I had to check to see if this was scrappleface.
I am screaming and pulling out my hair in anger and frustration! What a bunch of lying hypocrites!!!!
I am always amazed at how many people buy these stories.
But w/o question they are always funny.
Easy to come to that conclusion whenever Dean has just finished speaking.
You know, you are a sick man. ;-)
Your writing is too close to the real thing. Keep it up!
Please keep your hair in, LadyInRed. This is a humor article, but his writing is so sharp, it is sometimes hard to tell.
Had to read it again before realizing it was a fake. That is funny.
Repeat this often:
1. There are *no* emails from Foley to the 16 y.o.
2. There are *no* forwarded emails from Foley to the 16 y.o.
You didnt see people resigning in disgrace for these kinds of scandals when the Democratic Party was in the majority, Howard Dean, Chairman of the DNC, said. We kept things under control.
Thats because they didn't have the decency and grace to resign like they should have done.
Which is why you jerks are in the minority and hopefully will remain there.
Then why did Foley resign? We all already know what this is, DBM/dems October surprise. Repubs really need to move foward onto the IMPORTANT issues.
"Then why did Foley resign?"
He resigned over the IM's.
Yeah, so? My point is, it's over, Foley resigned...Move on!
What you've pointed out is something interesting, but it's means nothing. If Foley was fighting the charges and Hastert didn't approve of investigations then this would have legs, but this is a moot point now. I don't mean to say that you bringing light of this is wrong or not justified, it's just moot now.
The Repubs need to move on to different issues, go on OFFENCE!
God forbid, "I" actually confuse anyone! ;-)
Too funny, but true!
Pray for W and Our Troops
