The contractors working for the military in Iraq and Afghanistan may be a bunch of
f'n civilians, but the Theater Army Area Commands and combat service support units that used to do all the REMF and Fobbit missions for the trigger pullers no longer exist. Soldiers have become too rare and precious to waste on jobs that don't require a soldier to do.
But what do I know? I'm just a mercenary working for an eeevil corporation.

Same here once I demob.
In many cases, the contractor is the only one who can provide a service for the military and serves as continuity for when they rotate out and in.

Ping for later more comprehensive read.

The MSM has not once to my recollection interviewed any individual contractor except under the evil lens of Halliburton and/or KBR (which IMO does an incredible job).
Slightly afield but illustrative, they didn't cover the simply incredible and astonishing operation at Balad field hospital until what? ......Until one of their own - ABC's Bob Woodruff - was brought there to be patched up and repaired enough to ship to Germany.
That's something the Balad hospital had been doing every day for two years, but the MSM had been too lazy to ask simple questions and take a 20 minute helicopter ride from the Hotel Palestine to Balad/Anaconda.
It's illustrative because that's how they've behaved in every aspect of their Iraq reporting.

serves as continuity for when they rotate out and in.And were it not for that continuity, every rotation would present a dangerous new learning curve and months of reinventing the wheel. Surviving the rotations was no fun, but we kept things running and got the new command up to speed pretty quickly.

This is a great post. The American public WILL NEVER hear it, due to the MSM, Democrats, liberals and the rest of the moonbats.
There are too many jerkoffs like the guy who said the Blackwater men deserved what they got.
I prefer this response to those people, delivered by professionals, in a professional way, on behalf of professionals who deserved to be treated like professionals, never mind, humans:

Contract Management, Construction Management, documentation of Structral and Specification compliance
I do them all every day, all day.
The upside to my job:
NO ONE IS SHOOTING AT ME, yet. ;)
and YES, it's a pain the butt, and a headache.

A postscript to my other post:
My firm also does government work, and we have teams at several embassies in countries that end with the letters "...stan".
We also have a team in the embassy in-country.

Who can name a single contractor who did work in Iraq, besides the one that begins with "H" and maybe Blackwater USA? Triple Canopy.(my brother worked for them)

Quite right. They tried to re-invent the wheel anyway.

Excellent post!
Thank you for a spot on report.
I wonder if the MSM will ever cover all the good we've donein Iraq.
I know it doesn't fit their political agenda, but these are our guys and gals doing this!
I'm proud of you all!
