Revisionist History: Path to 9/11; Are Disney/ABC or the Clinton Administration Crowd Guilty?

Let’s just review for a moment the affair of one Samuel “Sandy” Berger and the National Archives.

On Thursday, July 22, 2004, Washington Post staff writers John F. Harris and Susan Schmidt, wrote “Last Oct. 2, former Clinton national security adviser Samuel R. ‘Sandy’ Berger stayed huddled over papers at the National Archives until 8 p.m. What he did not know as he labored through that long Thursday was that the same Archives employees who were solicitously retrieving documents for him were also watching their important visitor with a suspicious eye.”

The employees of the National Archives suspected that Sandy Berger was stealing classified government archives about terrorists from his tenure as President Clinton’s National Security Advisor.

They were right.

John F. Harris and Susan Schmidt wrote, “The documents that Berger has acknowledged taking — some of which remain missing — are different drafts of a January 2000 ‘after-action review’ of how the government responded to terrorism plots at the turn of the millennium. The document was written by White House anti-terrorism coordinator Richard A. Clarke, at Berger’s direction when he was in government.”

Harris and Schmidt also reported that, “Sources have told The Washington Post, and other news organizations, that Berger was witnessed stuffing papers into his clothing.”

Transporting classified government documents without proper authorization is a serious offense. Stealing historical records from the national Archives is equally heinous.

But the real crime that Sandy Berger, and other Clinton Administration personnel, may be guilty of is this: “revisionist history.”

After September 11, 2001, everyone in Washington DC asked the same questions: How could this happen and why weren’t we forewarned?

In fact, “we” were forewarned. There were many events that should have set off alarm bells during President Clinton’s Administration.

I've been wondering what other movies about that period of American history have been censored.

These documents went to all the Clinton admininstartion big shots. They returned them with notes in the margins. Those handwritten notes would have absolutley destroyed x42i and his hand pupputs in the 911 hearings.

Exactly.

That's why they sent Burglar in.

Berger blocked 4 plans to get bin Laden
9-11 commission report shows handwritten responses on documents

Former National Security Adviser Sandy Berger blocked four separate plans of action against the al-Qaida terrorist network from 1998 to 2000, according to the newly released 9-11 commission report.

The report cites a 1998 meeting in which then-director of the Central Intelligence Agency George Tenet presented a plan to capture Osama bin Laden, notes the New York Sun.

"In his meeting with Tenet, Berger focused, however, on the question of what was to be done with Bin Ladin if he were actually captured," the report says, citing a May 1, 1998, CIA memo. "He worried that the hard evidence against Bin Ladin was still skimpy and that there was a danger of snatching him and bringing him to the United States only to see him acquitted."

Berger, who served in the Clinton administration, is facing a Justice Department investigation for allegedly smuggling secret files out of the National Archives prior to the 9-11 commission hearings.

After news of the probe broke Monday, Berger stepped down from his informal position as security adviser to Democratic Sen. John Kerry's presidential campaign.

The 9-11 commission report presents three other opportunities given to Berger to take action against bin Laden:

  • June 1999: The potential target was an al-Qaida terrorist camp in Afghanistan known as Tarnak Farms. But the commission cites Berger's handwritten notes on the meeting paper, which referred to "the presence of 7 to 11 families in the Tarnak Farms facility, which could mean 60-65 casualties." The Berger notes said, "if he responds, we're blamed."

  • Dec. 4, 1999: National Security Council counterterrorism coordinator Richard Clarke sent Berger a memo suggesting a strike against al-Qaida camps in Afghanistan. According to the commission, however, in the "margin next to Clarke's suggestion to attack Al Qaeda facilities in the week before January 1, 2000, Berger wrote, 'no.'"

  • August 2000: Berger was presented with a plan to attack bin Laden based on aerial surveillance from a "Predator" drone. "In the memo’s margin," the commission said, "Berger wrote that before considering action, 'I will want more than verified location: we will need, at least, data on pattern of movements to provide some assurance he will remain in place.'"

The New York paper, in an editorial asks why Berger made these critical decisions rather than the president. The commission report notes the decisions "were made by the Clinton administration under extremely difficult domestic political circumstances. Opponents were seeking the president's impeachment."

The Sun opines, had Berger "been a little less reluctant to act, a little more open to taking pre-emptive action, maybe the 2,973 killed in the September 11, 2001, attacks would be alive today."

God only knows what kind of incriminating documents Burglar destroyed. They must have been devastating to Clinton and his Administration for Sandy to risk his career and the negative publicity that would be generated by his Federal felony.

Exactly. If a document has a note written in the margin by WJC, almost regardless of what the note says, it would be rather hard for the President to deny having seen it (if the note was something like "Cindy (good fun) 212-555-1234" it might not show that he noticed the content of the document, but anything having to do with the document would be incriminating).

Thus the need to destroy them.

"I've been wondering what other movies about that period of American history have been censored."

The one above "Homeland Security" is a well done movie which I bought a few days ago. Reviews on this film from leftists hated this film with a passion, since it clearly depicts Islamic jihadists as stone cold serial killers, plus paints the Clinton White House in an unfavorable light for not taking out bin-Laden, very similar to this new version "The Path To 9-11".

The Dems must be made to pay for the over 3000 September 11th related murdered Americans in the upcoming November election - through defeat, after defeat, after defeat.
