With the REVELATION by Newsweek's Michael Isikoff that the REAL source of the leak of Valerie Plame's name to Robert Novak was NOT Karl Rove but frequent critic of the Administration's Iraq policy, Richard Armitage, both DUmmieland and the KOmmieland are in a deep state of shock. Therefore, in order to ease their angst, perhaps this is a good time to take a brief break and serenade them with the Freudenschade song (to the tune of "Edelweiss) composed by that famous Tin Pan Alley songmeister, Charles Hendrickson:

Richard Armitage, a well-known gossip who loves to dish and receive juicy tidbits about Washington characters, apparently hadn't thought through the possible implications of telling Novak about Plame's identity.
"I'm afraid I may be the guy that caused this whole thing," he later told Carl Ford Jr., State's intelligence chief. Ford says Armitage admitted to him that he had "slipped up" and told Novak more than he should have.
"He was basically beside himself that he was the guy that f---ed up. My sense from Rich is that it was just chitchat," Ford recalls in "Hubris," to be published next week by Crown and co-written by the author of this article and David Corn, Washington editor of The Nation magazine.

Armitage said something to Novak on July 8. It's unclear whether he exposed Plame's covert identity. But in any case, he wasn't part of the plot, we can say with near certainty.

When I was a relative newbie here... and Fitz made his "big" announcement re: Libby only, I diaried my devastation and was promptly given the troll treatment by other Kossacks. Every time I hear/read the name Plame, I'm reminded that I'm still bitter about it. Fitz...what a f*cking disappointment.

The article mentions that Fitz found no evidence that Armitage knew she was covert. Apparantly, he learned about Plame from the INR memo, which in no way identifies her as covert.
[And the reason for this is because Valerie Plame was NOT covert.]
Doesn't make sense. If it were just a slip by Armitage, this would have been a non-story ages ago.

I've looked on the web sites for Fox, CNN, CBS, and MSNBC. Nobody is interested in this story. AP hasn't written about Plame since Aug. 22 when it was revealed it might possibly be Armitage. For the last few years this case has been treated like the crime of the century. And now that we actually know the name of the leaker nobody is covering it. After all the hype, you'd think these news outlets would at least say "oh, by the way, it was Armitage". I might never have heard that Armitage was the leaker if it weren't for DUmmie FUnnies.

Oh, but Isikoff was interviewed about this topic on NBC's "Today" show this morning.
Follow the link and you'll find an essay by Paul Craig Roberts that was featured (as are most or all of his columns) on NewsMax. In it Roberts accuses the U.S., and Dubya specifically, of ongoing terrorist acts, and expresses outrage that we have been bad to those nicey-nicey Axis of Evil folks. It could have come off of Osama's notepad, and Carl refuses to answer any questions about it.
