Right, a mainstream idea from a former mainliner...

[While Susan Estrich guzzled down her Freudenschade Victory Champagne.]

This may be the answer to a question I've had since election night: she looked either drunk or stoned on Fox, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was just massive disappointment. She has the worst voice ever.

This is weird. Here's the thread:

And here's the Admin Mod's post to Charles in that thread:

To: Charles Henrickson

Whaddaya call a jerk like you?

Suspended.

I just left another message with Admin regarding Charles' suspension, asking for it to be overturned. This doesn't make sense. His post and the one following were removed so we can't tell what was said, but I can't believe it was anything. Have you had any response from your inquiry?

Jimbo

Hi, Jimbo. I saw your post on that thread, along with freedumb2003's post, right behind mine. Maybe if enough of us lobby for him...

No, I haven't had a response from the mod yet. I suppose he doesn't feel that he owes me one. This is baffling. I can only wonder if Charles made one of his puns that was taken the wrong way, or maybe something else that might have not been understood exactly the way he intended. I can't tell because his post was removed and no one has pasted his comments in their subsequent posts. Befuddling.

On the evening of the vote, reporters at each of the major networks were briefed by pollsters at 7:54 p.m. Kerry, they were informed, had an insurmountable lead and would win by a rout: at least 309 electoral votes to Bush's 174...

Funny, I watched the networks election coverage that had a running tally of the EC votes for Bush and Kerry. Kerry NEVER led Bush, by ANY tally...

Well, we need to plead for CH -- see my tag.

I was banned once, also (for 2 days was all -- the LONGEST 2 days of my life).

I know, hard to believe. Is there a sweeter, less caustic human being on the planet than me? I doubt it.

But still, the Mods found disfavor with one little (set of) comment(s).

mainstream? Rolling Stone, DU, and Truthouthedoor is mainstream? I must be trapped in one of those alternate universes I have heard about where everything is 180 degrees out of phase with the real universe.

Looks like others now joining the conspiracy nuts like us at DU.

Birds of a feather tend to flock together.

I'd feel better if they were in a cage......

I understand that's being taken care of by Halliburton on Cheney's orders. It shouldn't cost the taxpayers more than a couple hundred billion, tops. A bargain if you ask me.

One fake Walmart SuperCenter in the west TX desert may not be enough to hold them all, but there's still plenty of vacant land in Wyoming.

I actually used to work at a Walmart. All NEW Walmart Supercenters are being built with basement "quarters" to house "guests" that will manufacture the products that Walmart sells. The "couple hundred billion" will be more than offset by decreased imports from China and abroad, not only boosting the economy, but easing our growing trade deficit...

Halliburton is a GENIUS!!

I did a whole chapter in my book devoted to DU's reaction to the election and all of their wild theories. My personal fav - when the networks did the little interview with the Bush family watching election returns from the White House, the DUmp believed that was a signal for the Rovianites to start hacking in to the electronic voting machines. It was a vast Rovian conspiracy!

Or were your guys just trying to discourage the Republican voters in the western time zones from voting, by making them think it was no use so why try?

Which is what they tried in 2000 by falsely calling Florida for Gore so early.

Any Republican who doesn't win by at least 30 billion votes in the future will always be accused of voter fraud. Meanwhile, a Democrat who wins by one vote is held the undisputed victor.

Hey Purrcival, I don't get this whole CH thing. I'm not one of the favored ones around here, but this seems strange. I wish, since he is one of our biggest contributors (meaning content, I don't know about cash) we could see what the offending comment was.
Could a troll have hijacked his user ID?
I am not sure, but from his words, I have always thought CH was a Minister, or a professor. I can not believe he is capable of posting anything that would make a Moderator react like that.
I sure hope he doesn't leave us for good because of this. He is much too sharp a poster to not have around.

Remember, too, how in the 2000 election, one of the networks reported that all of the polls in Florida were closed...an hour before the polls in the panhandle had closed, because they were on Central time. They said that was an "error". Fat chance.

I work in I.T. I'm part of a team that supports thousands of servers in the Americas, and I work with people in various parts of the globe. In my job, I ALWAYS have to be aware of the time zone that affects any server that I touch (and by extension, its users).

By the same token, people in the media have to be equally aware of the time zones...which states are in more than one time zone, which areas of the country convert between Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time. This is ESPECIALLY true during an election, when they have to be responsible enough to let voters know when the polls open and close in each precinct.

Bottom line: I don't believe this was an "error", even for a second.
