Worth forwarding to opinionjournal.com. The country needs to see what pathetic idiots make up the Dummy base. As DISGUSTED as I am with Republicans I cant ever imagine associating myself with these idiots.

"Then let them shoot me first."

benburch has a very serious paranoia: he believes that the people in power actually care who he is and perceive him as a threat, and that his life in in danger from them. He's stated on more than one occasion that he expects to be killed for his Very Important Work with the White Rose Society.

Clinically speaking, such paranoid delusions arise out of a perception of impotence and powerlessness. The mind, rebelling at the unacceptable truth, retreats into a fantasy world where the poor patient is of the highest importance, a dangerous rebel against the established order. To maintain this fantasy, the sufferer invents a series of illusory enemies who are "out to get" him. The victim will often boast of the powerful nature of these enemies, in order to puff up his own importance and hopefully gain the admiration and approval of his fellows.

This is a tragic condition. There's nothing funny about it, and it's horribly insensitive to laugh at it. Poor benburch needs help; it's hard to imagine a worse situation for his mental health than the one he's in, where his delusions are reinforced and strengthened by equally-deluded peers. Making fun of benburch for his mental illness is like making fun of a cancer patient. He can't help it. He's sick.

dear FBI, The Democratic Underground are plotting to overthrow our government. Thought you might like to investigate.

Don't waste the FBI's time. The DUmmies aren't dangerous enough to be a threat. Their squawks, to paraphrase Heinlein, are like the squeals of kittens in a box.

OR-everyone stay HOME for 2-3 weeks. No work, or purchases or trades of any kind. Go to your keyboards & stay resolute. Hands in pockets. This also would work and would perhaps only require 15-20 million irate Americans who have lost key liberties-jobs outsourced-relatives dying in illegal, immoral wars-our planet being destroyed-dollar collapsing in trillions of dollars of all time record debt. Social Security Fund is rumoured to be emptied--etc.etc.etc.

Funny how every "big event" they plan there's always someone who proposes staying home in protest (as if they didn't do that already). They must not get out enough because they obviously don't realize they couldn't FIND that many people to participate in their "sit on your ass and do nothing" protest.

However, if the economy is so bad how could they even AFFORD to stay home for 2 or 3 weeks? Can you imagine the bump in the economy when they all bought mass quantities of munchies and other supplies? But can anyone of these morans actually name ONE just ONE citizen they know who's lost "key liberties"? I won't even bother with the "illegal war" nonsense because these DUmmies are still protesting Vietnam. After all wasn't it our own pet fister who in another recent thread was moaning about the draft being reinstituted any day now?

The inmates run the asylum. They'll never get the help they need. Too big of a network of losers pulling them down.

Cindy Sheehan will never recover because she has allowed her mourning to be exploited by those who hate this country more than they love her or her son.

I've said this before and I'm gonna keep saying it: I'm 90% sure that the driving force behind Cindy Sheehan, the one who writes her words, provides her funding, and plots her strategy, is Michael Moore. "Her" writings appear first on Moore's website, and "her" style is very similar to his (and so is her modus operandi: compare Crawford stakeout with Roger Smith stalking). Plus, have you heard from Moore lately? Is it at all conceivable that Moore could keep his big mouth shut for so long unless he were working on something behind the scenes?

Cindy Sheehan is Michael Moore. I'm almost certain of it. And I wish one of the media whores who follows her around like a puppy dog would ask her exactly what her involvement with Moore is.

Quite frankly, I believe that we will soon see random, crazy, futile vandalism / protests that might be intended to be domestic terrorism, but not the "organized" stuff (ELF et al) that we've seen so far. It'll be racheted up to the kind of inexplicably complete detachment from reality that will result in somebody painting his body with slogans, picking up a torch, and running into an airplane propeller and think that he's starting The Revolution.

I agree, and this is perhaps probably the sort of thing already happening, although not on a scale great enough to provoke media coverage, even from the National Inquirer.

One speculates quite reasonably that there is at least one DUmmie every minute of every day, under the delusion that it's important, doing something really stupid, or even harmful.

By the way, does anyone know what ever happened to the DUmmie "MoPaul"?

You nailed it, lock-stock-and-barrel, right in the bulls's-eye. I've seen a lot of analyses of the DUmmie "benburch," and this says it all, all by itself.

In case you didn't know this, the DUmmie "benburch" has alleged far-and-wide on the internet that his late father was, uh, not a good man, which if true explains much of his anger and hate, and sense of powerlessness.

"Go to your keyboards & stay resolute.

That would make a great tagline. I nominate this as the DUmmie Quote of the Week."

I second that nomination.

"What an idiot! How do you rebuild a "Repbulic" by handing over soveriegnty to a community of nations."

They don't really MEAN Republic - I don't think they even understand what it means. This is a group totally unable to grasp they way our own government runs, much less how the world governing bodies are shaped.

I don't think they even understand what it means.

You got that right.

From many years of DUmmie watching, it is my observation that most DUmmies have no idea of what politics and government and civics are; whether this is due to our public educational system or the natural sloth of the DUmmies, I am not sure.

Despite that democraticunderground was first hoped to be an illuminating portrayal of Aristoltean discussion and debate among committed Democrats who DO know what politics and government and civics mean.....well, alas, it turned out to be something else entirely.

I seriously doubt 99% of the DUmmies are even 5% "politically savvy;" I seriously doubt 99% of them have ever trod the pavements for a political candidate.

In fact, it is my speculation the DUmmies are actually apolitical (although "politics" provides a more-reasonable excuse); they just want to whine and bitch and moan and carry on and complain and scam, like a bunch of little old ladies fluttering around in the agonies of haemerrhoids.

Omigosh! They've learned how to spell "martial" law correctly (rather than "marshall" law)! Be still, my heart!

Now THAT'S interesting! And possibly very true! I agree with all of your points on their lack of knowledge of the political process, the workings of government and civics in general. This one, though, I'm not sure about - but I'm going to think it over.

I think they are highly "political" in the sense that politics, in their view, is the way to feel important when they are not. They pretend they are sitting around chewing the revolutionary fat with Chomsky and enlightening him on the battle ahead. But maybe this delusion simply feeds what you brought out - the need to whine, complain bitch and moan. Maybe instead of being pseudo intelligent (which goes without saying) they are pseudo political.

Sometimes I feel like Billy crystal in the Princess Bride:

"Have fun stormin' the castle!"

I thought they were supposed to throw them out on the 1st. Wasn't that the day they were taking over the White House?

That was supposed to be just another "Next Day That Everything Changed"...and didn't. BTW, Air America Phoenix was supposed to rise from the ashes on 04/03, wasn't it? Whatever happened with that?

You know, the DUmmies have so many of these disappointments it's no longer possible to keep track of them, they're so numerous.
