NEW YORKInvoking Biblical themes, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton joined immigration advocates Wednesday to vow and block legislation seeking to criminalize undocumented immigrants.
Clinton, a potential 2008 presidential candidate and relative latecomer to the immigration debate, made her remarks as the Senate prepares to take up the matter next week.
SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON: It is certainly not in keeping with my understanding of the pictures because this bill would literally criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself.
YEAH! Perfect graphic.
Of course Jesus broke customs and laws, and preached charity. So does that mean the illegal immigrant who breaks laws should be offered charity by Christians?
Consider Jesus didnt break laws to hurt people; he broke laws that ended helping people, it was the intent of the laws Jesus was opposed to, such as not being able to work on the Sabbath to help someone in need.
The fast is illegal immigrants steal and rob civil infrastructure from the legal citizens. Illegal immigrants cut in line in front of legal migrants. So helping illegal immigrants may seem charitable but it actually hurts others .
Allowing illegal immigrates to break immigration laws and employers to break labor laws isnt the same at all as Jesus breaking the Sabbath to be charitable to someone in need, since others are harmed when these laws are broken.
Furthermore, consider God is a god of justice, and order, but the chaos created by the lawlessness and plagiarizing the labor of illegal immigration is that truly godly?
Finally take the concept of being forgiven, Jesus didnt just forgive anybody just to be charitable, he only forgave those who repented. Likewise, giving amnesty to those who have broken laws, those who have attempted to steal civil infrastructure that doesnt belong to them without they first admitting their sin and acting remorse, and agreeing to assimilate by following order is not in accordance with Christian teachings, of repentance.
Therefore it just plain rhetoric to call for Christian charity to be ahead of the rule of law in a country where laws are based upon Judeo-Christian principles. We first have to recognize the sovereignty of God, and the sovereignty of Judeo-Christian principles before we can ask for his fruits.
Liberals think the Government is a charity
Harry a@@ Reid was in San Diego with some other pols at the border, threatens filibuster on immigration leg.
It is to bad so many who don't like the illegals didn't work as hard when Clintoon was prez for 8 yrs. to do something about the problem instead of dumping on Bush like it is something that just came up a few yrs. ago.
Now the illegals are packed also in the midwest, south east, to Long Island.
PLUS, the democrats could have reduced the felony portion of the bill to a misdemeanor (as certain Republicans wanted to do) and they REFUSED.
Why a lightning bolt hasn't struck Hillary Clinton I don't know, but God's ways aren't our ways, something she should perhaps remember.
Unfortunately, Hillary is correct this one time: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1601164/posts?page=71#71
"I have to confess that it's crossed my mind that you could not be a Republican and a Christian." - Hillary Clinton in the Richmond Times-Dispatch, 1997

From "Light the Lamp!": The monthly newsletter of the Holy Flame Pentecostal Church of Little Rock, Ark.
We welcome back to the area Senator Hillary Clinton (D., N.Y.), who has been spending so much time here in Little Rock lately that she's practically joined the church choir! "I'm here spending time at my husband's library," she told the Lamp when we caught up with her after a Sunday camp meeting, "and of course, I always take time to worship God in as evangelical a way as is feasible, given time and location constraints. As you know, I consider myself an evangelical Christian, really a Christian conservative, if you want to know the truth, so it's nice to be 'home' again in the South, which I really consider my quote-unquote home even though I live in New York most of the time. Well, Washington, D.C., most of the time, actually, but if I'm not there I'm in New York, of course, but always thinking about being here, in the South, my spiritual home, where I shared so many wonderful evangelical . . . moments and . . . events. Can you read that back to me?" The "Light the Lamp!" staff would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Christ loves all of us equally, and that God's house is open to all, even to senators from New York, so whoever is muttering stuff and saying mean things while pretending to cough can just quit it right now.

I know how you feel - I've never agreed with anything Hillary has supported (including her opposition to the ports deal), but she's correct on this one.
LOl Thanks. :-)
She's as out of synch quoting the Bible as Kerry is in his Carhart.

The Mainly Steam Morons obviously are the propoganda arm of the democratic party.
I did not realize that until now.
yeah right.
I worked for the Austin American Statesman newspaper here in Austin, and they actually have a plaque outside their main building that says that this newspaper was created for and by the democratic party.

God bless the illegals... kill the unborn.
Hellary quoting the bible is a joke
You actually believe she beleives what she said?
Hint: she doesn't.
I read your post that you linked and it makes no sense to me.
They must still have links to The Bible on Google. That surprises me.
