I'm Chris Matthews, let's play Hardball. Tonight; startling new allegations that the Bush administration knew well ahead of the attack on Iraq that Saddam Hussein did not possess WMD's.
My first guest tonight is one of the stars of the hit TV drama Law and Order, legendary comic Richard Belzer. Richard, welcome to the show.
Thanks for having me on the show, Chris...

ping!
Funny, especially considering the Daily Show had Sada on last night.. they gave more airtime to the true nature of the WMDs than the 'real' media has...
Stewart couldn't mess with the general. Have you seen WMD? I saw them with my own eyes ... we shipped a lot out of the country before the war. Did you see that for yourself? No, my pilots saw them and told me.
The general was completely credible. That comedy show did a lot for the truth yesterday.
Hardball: When The Truth Bites You In The Ass - hilarity from WuzzaDem!
BUMP!
Sadly, it was Comedy Central.. Luckly, many dems use the Daily Show as their primary source of news..
I saw it too and john stewart had a deer in the headlights look. I couldn't believe it that he gave him so much time and he took him seriously. Usually its a joke with him.
Did you happen to catch the Colbert Report the other night when Al Franken was his guest?
I would kill to have a transcript of that episode. Colbert utterly humiliated Franken and there was nothing he could do about it. It was absolutely priceless and hilarious.
He came out and immediately called Franken a coward and continued calling him a coward the ENTIRE interview. At the end, a "caller" asks "Why does Franken think the war is bad?" and the moron Franken gives the usual Liberal reply---lied about WMDs etc and the caller says "no, I was asking Steven," and Colbert says something to the effect of "Al Franken is a coward and he doesn't support the war in Iraq because he simply wants to make OUR PRESIDENT look bad at all costs!" This was really only part of the interview and it was even better than I can relate here. I was truly LOL.
Sad, isn't it? But conservatives have their own version, listening to Rush and Hannity. I often catch them on factual errors when they cover news. I usually agree with their points, and usually getting the facts right would strengthen their points, but they're still errors. Hannity blew it big time on what was in the RealID Act.
Hilareous!!!!
ROTFLOL!
Pete's a funny guy. ;o)
That reminded me of SNL during it's good days.
Jon Stewart ALWAYS has that "deer in the headlights" look. That's just the way his face looks.
I guess so, I usually watch steven colbert and love his satire, but once in awhile I tune in early to his show and watch the daily show. Its so evident who the people in the crowd are by the type of jokes they laugh at.
Hee-Hee! Thanks for the pingaroo, ES, that was funny! Loved Baghdad Bob stuck in there!
Very funny, thanks for the ping.
The battling church signs is hilarious.
As is Charlie (call me "Pete") Sheen!
LOL
Best one yet - thanks for a great laugh :)
