OK, new thread for the next week.
First, a big shout out to the SETI and BOINC members who have added CPUs to the effort. Remember, its Team 36120, NOT Team 0.
Next, congrats to all for bumping our team up to 456 processors and 209 user names. We have a number of new users in the team, with over a dozen folders now from GetLoaded.com all popping onto the hit list this week.
Special mention to Klutz Dohanger, who has quietly volunteered over 100 systems to fold. That is 20% of all of the Free Republic Folders systems actively engaged in research. Klutz is the first to earn 100,000 points.
We now have ten members who have contributed at least 10,000 points each. Malsua, Ken in Texas, Andrewksu, LSimpson and kingu have all reached this milestone, and Uriah will join them next week. Great job!
Even more impressive, our team now boasts 113 members who have folded at least 1,000 points. That is more than the entire number of CPUs folding for our erstwhile left-wing environazi competitors!
Free Republic Folding@Home Stats Page
On the global front, Free Republic Folders is now listed at # 487. We are poised to overtake (today):
MaximumCPU (these guys are serious overclockers)
BadgerBadgerBadger
ECU-SCIS-Cluster (82 CPU cluster in Australia)
BensCustomCases
Greenland HS in Winslow, AR Tech Labs
and the Univ of Stoney Brook Math Club, Stoney Brook NY
As we continue to grow there are a number of milestones coming around the bend:
Top 400 by next Friday
Top 300 by the end of the month
We have 610,000 points so far and have folded over 5,000 WU. We will reach:
750,000 points by Jan 24
1,000,000 points by mid February
Thanks again to all that are helping us advance science and promote the peaceful use of computers.

(LOL....I have zero idea of what I just typed makes any sense at all. I'm way, way over my head here and I should just shut up! I'm blowing smoke out of every orifice and bloviateing bigtime)
" I'm blowing smoke out of every orifice and bloviateing bigtime"
ROTFL
Well, it sounded good and techy, LOL.
Actually, not all those devices are drawing power at the same time, so 350W should be ok, but 400W sure wouldn't hurt.
BTW, it's driving 2 hard drives, a CDRW, a DVDRW, a power hungry video card and fan, 3 case fans, cooler fan, MB fan, 5 USB ports, flash card reader, compact card reader, a floppy drive, a web cam, network port, and voice/fax modem, heheh. (printer, speakers and monitor have their own power supply).

Still guessing you don't have enough watts but I know I'm bloviateing!
Don't feel bad, I cooked two procs and or mobos last week. One was on my Soyo Dragon+ board also. Got some serious shopping to do this week, hope to get them back up next weekend.
Are the P166s fast enough to run Linux? They sure don't do well under XP bloatware
Yes I used to use Amiga's absolutely loved them.
Also the P166's are running Linux, one is my firewall and the other is my test box. Both used to run SETI until they shut it down.
Hey thanks for the cool link.
Someone put together a nice little calculation page for figuring out PS needs.
Nice.
I'll use that to check my systems. Thanks again.

"I cooked two procs and or mobos last week"
Ouch - that's gotta hurt.
Good Luck on getting them back up and running - we need all CPUs we can get.

We have 460 CPUs!
It would be nice to reach 500 by the end of the week.
alright... I added 28 more today
That's awesome.
We're up to 461+28=489
Just 11 more CPUs and we'll reach the 500 CPU milestone
Let's go FR!
Man, I ahve dropped a few places...starting the same job at zero three times does that, I guess. Yes, I am still whining :o)

I see the climb to 399 from 499 is starting to get steeper.
Now, every time I check team overtake, we're trying to pass teams 3000 - 5000 points ahead of us. But as long as we continue to pass 10-12 teams per day, that's progress.
It may take us awhile to get in the top 100 in total points, but we're solidly in the current top 100 of active teams, for posting points.
Also noted, that SISD, has slowed down in their daily production. As noted before, they were a school district, that probably did this as an "over the holidays" experiment.
They're down to about half of what they were producing, when they passed us like a bat out of hell... and now, we're gaining ground on them. :)
On a personal note... I'm freaking... trying to figure out where 10 of my CPU's went to. Only 97 are active, out of 107 registered.... I know of one that I've taken off-line, because of the cpu load, but where in the *ell did the other 9 take off to... ?
Do you have any old, slow processors that are chewing on large folds that take over a week?
That reminds me of a couple I know, they don't fight over whose turn it is to do the housework, but they're constantly battling over who moved the wireless access point around, to improve the reception in their respective offices....
Good thought...I'll check into that.
Mostly though, I've found a few that have hung up, in downloading a new protein, and I have to manually start and restart the service... but cycling through the farm takes time... up till now, I've only been checking to see if they're still folding, not what, and how long :)
