PJ, my Congresscritter, in whose district lies Ronald Reagan National Airport, must be one of these DUmmies, since he refuses to refer to it as anything but "National Airport". When he's not beating up 10-year old boys and insulting the Israelis, Jim Moran is stalking the halls of Congress. Wish we could get rid of him, but I live in the bluest section of Virginia.

If he starts screeching, "You mean National?" I'll know he's a DUmmie.

You can really stretch this one out - all the while watching the vein pulse on his forehead. Play dumb when he says "You mean National?" and say very innocently, "Uh, no, 'Reagan Airport.' You know, the one just across the Potomac from Washington DC?" He may try again, saying something like "NO! It's NATIONAL AIRPORT!" to which you can reply, "I'm pretty sure it is 'Reagan'. When did they name it 'National'?" If he finally screams something like "THE NAME OF THE AIRPORT IS RONALD REAGAN WASHINGTON NATIONAL!!!!" you can smile and then counter with "Made you say his name!"

Now, I wonder, how they would feel if they visited the homestate of Robert "KKK" Byrd, and noticed that DAMN near everything is named for "the Prince of Pork"...

You would think that after all those BILLIONS of $$$$$ funnelled into WV, it would be paradise. (Actually, there is a Paradise, WV, but if you blink, you would miss it. "Welcome to" and "Hurry Back" signs are on the same post....) I guess that is why my wife of 3 years and WV resident of 30 years wanted to move to VA so bad....

Ah, yes, Jim Moron, er Moran. We got Rick (the Prick) Boucher here in the 9th. We voted SOLIDLY Republican 2 weeks ago, Kaine lost here by a 63%-36% vote, but he still got gov. Can't figure out why Boucher is still in office....(actually I can, he spends "bushels of bucks" in the district shortly before election time....)

In Houston after Enron Park didn't work out (cough), we got Minute Maid Park. In the beginning I was appalled at MMPark but the name has kinda grown on me. Then I realized, I hate baseball, I don't care what they name the stupid park

Gotta plead guilty here. I'm a native of the DC area, and I would never correct someone who referred to Reagan Airport, but the gratuitous re-naming of decades-old major places and roads here is getting out of hand. I'm ready to go back to RFK Stadium, National Airport, the Cabin John Bridge, and Nichols Avenue, which have been re-named to Fed-Ex Field, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, the American Legion Bridge, and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. Enough already.
