Breaking New on CNN a few minutes ago. A reporter said Sonny Perdue is going to close Georgia's Public Schools Monday and Tuesday of next week to conserve fuel and energy.

In Texas, it's $20,000 fine per price gouging incident.
Georgia needs a similar law.
They have one, I think the fine is $5,000.
Some station owners were charged in our last "shortage".
>Are you a DUer? They have lengthy thread on limiting mail delivery to 4 or 5 days.<
That's because none of them work for a living and only need deliveries on the 1st and 15th of the month.
Sonny may be a RINO, but anyone who remembers his predecessor isn't complaining. Sonny's election saved my house from eminent domain abuse. I have nothing bad to say about the man.
My mom wanted to name my brother Wolfgang when he was in the service in Germany. My mom wanted no part of it.
I was being sarcastic!
He 's trying to head off a gas rush....you see, recently the liberal reporters of WSB AM here were responsible for the gas rush that drove prices up to $5/gallon over a mis-informed report about gas line pumping...they hyped it like the world was going to end...This morning, they were advising gas would go to $4/gallon based on some goddam 'expert's' claims...
They are EVIL and they should be run out of town on a rail.
Tar and feathers for all of them.....
I don't think nyc shuts its schools often at all on account of snow.
It might be because of so many parents complaining when they do. It happened here years ago. There was such an uproar that they are a little more hesitant now, BUT they hear an uproar if the schools aren't closed sometimes. You're darned if you do and darned if you don't.
Is that near West Los Angeles, I need to fill up?
Daryl Kagan? For real? Am I the only one who didn't know this? Or is it sarcasm. I feel so out of the loop. I don't read Weekly World News or People or anything to keep up!
Conserve Gas used in thousands of Georgia School buses in case there is a shortage while refineries are down.
Or a hurricane hits.
After Katrina, several small towns in Georgia ran ut of gas altogether and the lines in Augusta, Georgia were hours long.
Actually he is 21 months and a big pain in the ass!
, we never had A/C when I went to school anyway and we did fine.
I remember going to school when it was 108 degrees at times. Sometimes we had AC, sometimes we didn't. Our biology teacher kept her room at about 40 degrees. I had to bring a jacket just for her class.
How does this head off a gas rush when such a drastic measure indicates that there is a gas shortage? People are going to hear about this and run out to gas, not the opposite.
We already have something similar, and it should be repealed! Sonny needs to butt out of the free market. I don't like paying high prices, but I would rather pay a lot for gas, than not be able to get gas at any price. Keep the prices artificially low, and there will be a shortage. We should learn something from the history of the gas shortage in the 70's! (or 3 weeks ago for that matter).
In that case, he is probably pissed that you named him Wolfgang!!!
(just kidding)
No. But some of the neighborhoods are likley the same. Massive illegal immigrant population in the area.
