Speculation: Cindy Sheehan's Not Coming Back to Crawford, and Her Mom May Not Even be Ill
UK Guardian (story of departure) ^ | August 20, 2005 | litany_of_lies

From the linked article:

Michelle Mulkey, a spokewoman for Sheehan, who lives in Vacaville, Calif., said Sheehan hoped to be back in Texas within 24 to 48 hours. Mulkey said Sheehan's mother, Shirley Miller, was in a hospital emergency room and Sheehan didn't yet know how serious her condition was.

Something just doesn't ring true about this paragraph.

It's too convenient. Her mom could be in and out of emergency in hours, depending on the situation of course, and could be back home before Ms. Sheehan even arrives. Yes, mom could need post-visit help, but how can Ms. Sheehan "hope" to be back with 24-28 hours? Wouldn't "I don't know" be more on point? It's odd, even in the era of medical privacy, that she doesn't know her mom's condition.

My theories:
- Mom's not ill, or isn't ill enough to justify a departure by Ms. Sheehan. It would be a real coup if someone could check and see where her mom is and has been.
- Ms. Sheehan's not returning to Crawford at all before Bush returns to Washington.
- This is happening because the Move America Forward (MAF) effort was on the verge of humiliating the Ms. Sheehan and her cohort.
- With Cindy gone, the MAFs can be ignored by the press.
- Even if she's really returning, she may return after August 27 to conveniently avoid a confrontation with and/or comparison to the MAFs.

Bottom line: She's leaving now to avoid a huge embarrassment in a week.

Do you think the Caravan should make a stop first to deliver flowers, cards, and well-wishes to her mother?

It would probably be better to have them delivered.

Why not make the first stop right outside the hospital and demand Cindy meet with us?!

Except that Camp Cindy has put up a huge circus tent (how appropriate) on their new site.

It would probably be better to allow her to choose wheher to make contact with the caravan or the radio station.

I'm sure she's aware of what's going on in her area.

Maybe while Cindy is visiting her mother in the Tri-City Regional Medical center, she can learn a little more about problems with this hospital that serves her former home town

How Moskowitz Profits from his Hawaiian Gardens Non-profits A Detailed Analysis of Irving Moskowitz's Non-profit Operations in Hawaiian Gardens [excerpt]

One former City Council member recalls that when the hospital was first built, Hawaiian Gardens welcomed it as the solution to the community's unmet health care needs. But citing the high cost of treatment at Tri-City and the lack of charity care, he said few use the hospital now. [snip]

How does the hospital manage to stay afloat with such low patient volume? The answer may be as close as the sign in front of Tri-City's main entrance announcing it is also the home of "The Center for the Surgical Treatment of Obesity."

Tri-City, it seems, has gotten into the lucrative business of stomach stapling.[snip]

Since posting this report on our website, more information has come to light that strongly suggests that Moskowitz's non-profit Tri-City Regional Medical Center is in violation of Internal Revenue Service rules qualifying health care providers for tax-exemption

very interesting link.

Cindy's mother is recovering from a stroke at a surgical weight lose center/hospital. Just what got stroked?

Sorry to be snarky.
Ok no I'm not.

I really beleive that it is the gathering storm of Pro-America, Pro-military, Pro-freedom citizens has got her on the run. She hoped for a ripple of Bush supporter to browbeat and bully with her rhetoric spewing followers. Instead she is getting not a ripple, not a wave but a tsunami of opposition from p'o'd Americans that she just can't face. Or her handlers have cooked up this little smokescreen to get her off camera and off the microphone.

God Bless the USA

What kind of sauce goes best with crow?

Yes, her mom is in the hospital.

I'll worry about the reasons, etc. later, and shut up for now, lest I have to eat a double serving.

I didn't agree with you about her mother being in the hospital. I was agreeing with you about her not coming back.

I can't argue with what you said.

Cindy is, first and foremost, a showwoman.

It's her fault that people question the truth of what she says. People who are paying attention to her words, know she has lied. Even some of her supporters must know that she has lied, though they figure that goes with the territory of any big name Bush-Basher.

Looks like she's back too.

That's why I don't get asked about stock picks very often.

I already posted this in amother thread.

Damn! I was wrong. She is more self-centered then I thought. It's all about her, not about anyone else, not Casey and defiantly not about her own Mother! I expected her to have a little family value! Apparently she has none.
