UNITED AMERICAS BANK OBJECT OF PROTEST BY THE AMERICAN RESISTANCE FOUNDATION AND OTHER CONCERNED CITIZENS.
Atlanta, GA. - The American Resistance Foundation [T.A.R.] and concerned American citizens will rally in front of the United Americas Bank, 3789 Roswell Rd, Atlanta, at 10:00 AM Saturday, 23 July 2005. The rally is part of an ongoing effort to draw public attention to the bank’s practice of making mortgage loans and opening accounts for thousands of people residing in the U.S. illegally.
According to bank officials, United Americas Bank [UAB] accepts as valid ID the unsecure and easily forged Mexican issued Matricula Consular ID, and, in violation of IRS guidelines, the IRS issued Individual Tax Identification Number [ITIN].
Georgia State Senator - and national board member of MALDEF - Sam Zamarripa is a founding partner and Director of UAB.
“Because of its ease of forgery, the Mexican Matricula Consular ID is not accepted in most banks in Mexico” observed D.A. King, founder of T.A.R. “Opening accounts for illegal aliens, handling funds received as payment for illegal labor - and making mortgage loans to illegal aliens amounts to money laundering by those who profit from this activity”. “It is a violation of USC 8, section 1324 to encourage an illegal alien to remain in the United States” said King.
T.A.R. opposes illegal immigration and those who profiteer from that crime, as well as any amnesty proposal for illegal aliens.

As an American, you can't do any banking without providing your SSN. But the criminals can skate the rules.

I don't dispute that the left is self-loathing and self-destructive and I'll even add that they hate America.
But the banking rules that allow banks to accept Matricula Consulars as valid ID were promulgated by the Treasury Department, over the objections of the FBI not long after 9/11 during the Bush Administration. Lots of letters were written in protest but we were ignored.
This is not something that can be blamed on the left but rather falls squarely on the "I'll do anything (including treason) for a dollar" wing of the Republican Party.
I am amazed had how they can obtain mortgage loans. The red tape involved verifing personal information. Lenders and banks really have no fear,they know they can bail out and we pick up the tab. I think I want to be an illegal. Lots of benefits.

President Bush had a perfect opportunity with 9-11. We could have cleaned up alot of this mess - deported all illegals and shut the gates and have them re-enter legally. Our borders aren't any better since 9-11

I hear where you are coming from. If I didn't love America so much, seems it would just be easier to leave and come back in, or perhaps just to have babies and become a welfare mommy. I suspect these lives are not as easy as they appear from the outside looking in, at least I hope they aren't!

U.S. government loan guarantees should NOT be offered on these types of loans if default ensues. The banks should be on their own. Talk about a poor risk.
How can we say in this country we have equal justice, if American citizens must have a social security number to open a bank account, and these people don't?
How do these people get income verification? It seems to me these are very high risk loans?
