A quick glance at the DUmmieland forum would tell a visitor that something is amiss in the form of a definite lack of a certain recent obsession. Yes, GONE are the many many Downing Street Memo (DSM in crypto DUmmieSpeak) threads. So what happened? After all, wasn’t it just last week that Pied Piper Pitt breathlessly declared June 16 to be the day that would change history and that nothing would ever be the same again because of a non-official hearing conducted by John Conyers in a congressional broom closet. What has happened to cause the early, unlamented DEATH of the DSM was the revelation yesterday that the DSM are about as authentic as the Texas Air National Guard letters of CBS News fame. The British reporter breaking this DSM story typed up copies from copies of the originals he made, then returned the original memos (or so he claimed) and then very conveniently DESTROYED his copies. I believe the name of this British reporter is Michael Smith but “Bill Burkett” would suffice. I originally believed that the DSM saga in DUmmieland would last until about early July until it slowly faded into the insignificance of the Jeff Gannon “scandal” in terms of having any impact on national politics here. Little did I realize that the DSM would be killed in the crib the very first weekend following Conyers’ non-hearing. So let us now enjoy the spectacle in this THREAD titled, “Are Downing Street memos authentic or elaborate hoax?” of sputtering Coyote DUmmies biting Road Runner dust YET AGAIN in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, resisting the urge to shout “BEEP! BEEP!” is in the [brackets]:

What keeps me in stitches is that EVEN IF THE DSM WAS 100% TRUE, it contains 0% fact. It is the opinion of "C" and does not "prove" any manufactured evidence. It just proves that someone was reading the Washington tea leaves and making some guesses.
