Leonard Pitts, a noted columnist and a member of the United Church of Christ, now appears to consider himself the printed media spokesperson for this "progressive" denomination. For those not in the know, "progressive" is a synonym for a faith that has the intelligence to move beyond the myths, tales and lies of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and center itself on the teachings of Karl Marx, Sigmued Freud, secular humanism and whatever other false gospel that is currently in vogue.
In an article "second thoughts about the religious right" he deplores this "noxious groups' influence."Mr. Pitts, speaking of Christian fundamentalism, writes that Americans are beginning to have their doubts about this new American theocracy as they look at the theocracies of the Middle East and Africa and wonder if these are models to which we should aspire. Mr. Pitts writes that American fundamentalism is less about faith than intrusion and less about God than power and less about right than self-righteousness. Sought of reminds one of the manner in which those in power in Israel more than two thousand years ago regarded the prophets God sent among them.
Indeed the "progressive" denominations would enjoy nothing more than for the American people to regard blood-washed, born-again Christians as the Jewish nation regarded the prophets sent by God. ...

But, if the kids you know, who go to the public schools of Maine, don't know what is in Larry's editorial, than please vote against the school budgets.
Let's cut their funding till they get back to basics.
I learned this stuff in Public Schools...of course that was nearly 20 years ago now....2nd grade
