How does a crusty, mean-spirited, Kerry-supporting fossil like Don Imus manage to stay on the air?
Does he have the best lawyers, who write iron-clad contracts? A world-class superagent? Compromising photos of corporate execs? All of the above?
Or is it simply the age-old art of coasting on one's earlier success, where a shrinking energy level meets increasing compensation?

Chewing gum, spit and a fake cowboy hat worn stupidly on the back of his head.
Tell Imus to come to Texas, my relatives will kick his @ss.

The same thing that kept Jerry Springer on the air. Yes, it's sad , but true.

Judging from this piece, it sounds like Imus should NOT be on the air...at NBC or anywhere else for that matter.
...Concerning his Sportscaster Mr. Rosenberg, I wonder if he would find it amusing if someone made light of his wife, sister, or mother dealing with breast cancer. What an idiot.
...Evidently everyone associated with this program has a ton of personal issues.

Imus is duller than Harry Reid's autobiography.

The latest involves slimy sidekick Sid Rosenberg, who sang a disgusting tune about pop singer Kylie Minogue's breast cancer disclosure, which led to his firing after a week of public pressure and red-faced execs. What's wrong with NBC for keeping Imus on tv? The show is out of control.

The simple reason is that they get no ratings in those hours, anyway, so turning on a couple of cameras while Imus does his radio show is cheap product. Also, there is no public indignation over Imus. He's such a smarmy kiss-ass to Senators of both parties that he covers the bases. Imus is a very "inside the beltway" phenom--he's the radio host DC puppet heads think is cool, for some reason.

There's too much dead air and too much Drama Queening between Imus and his staff. Very boring.

His last shining moment was when he did the flop sweat "bubba el camino astro-turf" speech in front of Clinton.
