Sorry, My previous post wasn't directed at you since I agree with you. I was posing that to those that want to blame the Gov for not 'doing more'.

"There's more; who else to blame?"
Any of us who ever voted for a Democrat at any level in our mis-guided youth?
Any of us who missed a vote at any level from Dog Catcher on up because we were lazy or apathetic or thought our vote just didn't matter?
Any of us who've ever turned a blind eye when things were happening elsewhere in the world involving euthanasia or ethnic cleansing?
Any of us who weren't shocked and outraged when a state like Oregon passed "Right to Die" laws, thinking, "that'll never come to MY state?"
Who else did I miss? (What a Gawd-Awful day this is going to be. For me, hope for Terri is gone. I just hope the death experts are right and that she's not suffering, or that they're at least keeping her heavily sedated while they snuff her out.)

Again, I agree that the tube should be reinserted, but people are making claims and demanding actions so severe that I am not sure they understand what they advocate.

They talked about this on the news the other day. I think the part "the right to enjoy and defend life and liberty" is null because the courts have already ruled she is vegetative, which means no chance for recovery. Not that I agree with it, but Jeb can't change it.
It doesn't matter if the courts ruled her vegetative or not, persons with physical disabilities are specifically included and protected.
Further, the executive is on equal legal standing with the judiciary - the governor is NOT constitutionally bound to take orders from the courts.

So then why did his order in Dec. 2003 get overturned?

It's the fault of those who have the authority and refuse to save the life of one of their most helpless citizens
Our leaders are charged with protecting us from such horrors
We expect the pro aborts to think feel and act this way...
But not those who claim to be of the party of 'good guys'...
If the Repubbies let her be torture-murdered then it is on them...if the Repubbies try to use her death to put down the dems then they are even more despicable then the already despicable dems
Because they claim to be better...and we put our faith and votes in them to be better...

Absolutely dillusional! The Florida legislature, at Gov. Bush's behest, passed legislation saving Terri. However, our left leaning supreme court, struck down the law as unconstitutional. Blame whomever you wish, but IMHO, the blame falls squarely on Michael Shiavo and the judges who refuse to allow testimony from the first 5-10 years of Terri's ailment.

This case is sickening. But blaming Bush would be like blaming the militia. Any militia could act but what member will take off from work, travel, face public humiliation, face arrest, prison, and the inability to support their family in order to save this stranger?
And yet I hate that I am doing so little while the world watches America try to best Holland with a callousness for the importance of life, not the quality of life, but life itself.

PLEASE E-MAIL THE PRESIDENT AND GOVERNOR BUSH AND PLEAD WITH THEM TO FIND SOME WAY TO SAVE TERRI'S LIFE!!!
email President Bush president@whitehouse.gov
Governor Bush jeb.bush@myflorida.com
I just e-mailed both of them by the way. At least I don't feel quite as helpless now. I have done a little something to try to help Terri. Now it is in the hands of God and the Government (if the Govt. will follow God's will that is)
Also, please pray for Terri Schiavo. Just a quick prayer is all. It just takes a couple of seconds. Please. Her life is at stake here.
Thank you.

We talk about "slippery slopes" for many things on this forum. Calling in the National Guard for one woman when the courts have ruled wouldn't be a slope, it'd be a cliff. Do you want to set a precedent like this, especially given how future democRATs can distort it for their aims?

I say this place has become pathetic with us eating our own, and you insist on sitting right at the buffet table stuffing your face with both arms full of crap. Stop using your emotions and start using your logic. You want the laws changed to protect a Terri Schiavo vote for candidates that will give it to you. Stop whining and get a clue.DC, while I may agree with your point and clearly do not agree with the direction of this thread, I find your approach disgusting.

I think Secretary Rice should have a personal, private visit with Michael Schiavo. Not under her position as Secretary of State, just a nice personal visit.

The only thing Bush can do at this point, without being subjected to impeachment proceedings, is appoint conservative judges, and that is not going to happen in time to save Terri.
