On Gay Marriage: Right And Wrong Have No Compromise

The sage old adage reminds us that the two things we don't ever want to view being made is sausage and legislation. The older I get, the more I see why this is true. While watching portions of the taped public hearing on CT-N of the contentious gay marriage issue, I heard Chairman Mike Lawlor (Who previously referred to members of the Family Institute Of Connecticut as "Out of Town Extremists" on a recent WTNH Channel 8 news interview), asked the question, of (I believe) FIC Executive Director Brian Brown, if civil unions would be an adequate compromise to resolve this debate. I recall the answer being correctly answered as "no." I also recall my teachers in school as a kid growing up always telling us that there is no such thing as a "stupid question." Teachers, meet Representative Mike Lawlor.

Granted, in the legislative process, law is often made by compromise from two opposing sides. But in looking at "Iron Curtain Mike's" history and record of outlandish and radical socialist remarks, issues, stances, bills and votes that have often defied and defaced liberty and decency, it is apparent that what is at the forefront here is agenda, not his facade of compromise. Not that one could often conspicuously notice it in this very liberal and often secularist state, but there is no compromise to right and wrong. If a thief robbed you at gunpoint of the hundred bucks in your pocket, but then compromised and gave you back fifty, would you excuse his criminal act? Too often we are blinded and duped by moral relativism, and right and wrong being defined as "what you feel."

I'm confused. If Homosexual Marriage is "okay", then why not Bigamy and Incest? They are, afterall, consenting adults...

Since when do the courts have the authority to offer tax incentives for lifestyle choices?

People CHOOSE to live a homosexual lifestyle. If science can offer proof homosexuality is genetic then it will prove homosexuals to be handicapped.

(and why are they called GAY??)
