Sean Hannity on the Rise or Stale?

Sean Hannity at Hannity.com

Sean Hannity seems to me to be the most ambitious guy in talk radio and on TV. His conservatism and optimism have taken him right to the top. I must say when I first heard Sean Hannity I thought, wow this guy is gunning for Rush LImbaugh's top spot, and is going to catch him in no time. He has big, big guests, always wins his arguments, and is a genuine nice guy. Then something happened - I started getting annoyed. It's not that I really disagreed with the guy, but I'm just having trouble listening to him? I don't know if it's too many charities on the go, to many books, or just that his just too nice a guy. I know, I know, this aren't really harsh criticisms, but I want to be entertained, and the entertainment value just isn't there for me. Am I wrong? Has Sean Hannity maxed out? Or could he keep climbing to the top at take out O'Reilly on TV, and Rush on the radio?

Sean Hannity  might be the only one left standing in the next 20 years, but for now, I think he's done as well as he's going to. What are your thoughts?

Sean's main problem imho is that he doesn't have original thought; which makes it unnecessary for me to watch or listen to him because the ideas he speaks of have already been out on FR or elsewhere.

Furthermore, wrt Hannity&Colmes: they seem to rotate the same guests in and out regularly. That is boring. Why can't they get new people to make points? Is that too much to ask? Not that i'd watch anyway. Cuz i wouldn't.

IMO, he interupts and talks over the guests too much. It just feels like work to me to listen to him for more than 5 minutes.

Sean needs to let his liberal guests spew their mantra before he interrupts them. His passion to respond overrides his judgment and he butts in too quickly.

He needs to realize that often when a liberal is allowed to talk uninterrupted the mere presentation of their ridiculously stupid arguments does more to discredit them than any shrill attack.

Once the leftist morons have stated their case he needs to calmly dismantle their arguments one-by-one. If, and when, his response is interrupted by the moron he can calmly say, "I let you give your side without comment, now you allow me the same courtesy."

Sean's assets are his good looks (like that really helps him on the radio), his enthusiasm and passion. He could use a little improvement in intellectual analysis and in his debating skills.

IMO Sean Hannity always covers the same subjects over and over and his opinions are "always" the right ones. Can't bear to watch Hannity and Colmes any longer....constant fighting and talking over each other and the guests. It's the same with O'Reilly.

I think the problem is that it's difficult to listen to anyone, day-in and day-out, and not have them grow a bit stale.

That and he never changes his rah rah Republican cheerleading and his fawning adulation of Republican big government. If he EVER said anything critical of Bush (like for example that he supports the semi-auto ban) I never heard it. Boortz at least fires off occasional criticisms of both parties. Listening to Hannity is like listening to a two hour Republican infomercial.

I don't listen to him anymore. Rush is still the king of talk. I listen to Medved during Hannity's time slot.

My take on Sean Hannity of late is that he pontificates, and he talks about himself too much. I absolutely could not listen to Jenanne Garafoloroforoalafalalala what's-her-name on his show, and cannot stand to hear alot of folks arguing.

I love 'em both. I must admit, though, I prefer Rush. He's just funnier and really knows how to nail a liberal. I think the main thing is that I hear liberals day in and day out everywhere else, I don't want to hear them when I listen to conservative talk radio...as guests, anyway. When Rush has a liberal phone caller, he lets them talk and then totally dismantles their arguments. Sean has liberals on as guests, which I simply do not want to hear. And what was up with having Amber Frey on for an interview??!! As far as opinions and analysis go, though, I do like Sean and I do listen to him when I'm in the car and he's on. However...Rush is definitely the KING!

I don't think Hannity is that good looking really.. It's just that when he is sitting across from that monster ( only a mother could love it) Colmes he appears better looking than if he were sitting alone.

How is it there is a steady stream of Hannity bashing threads popping up one after another on FR?

I guess the Democrats are threatened by him getting to some of the people Rush misses.

According to some FReepers, he and that dumb-as-a-brick slut share the same book publisher. He was simply being a paid shill for her.

Quality radio, huh?

I'll say I got a crash course on politics in this last year listening to Hannity. There were times driving rush hour home when I had no faith in my fellow man and thought Bush's second win was so dismal. And then I'd listen to Hannity and everything would get back on track.

I think Hannity's popularity will cool now that the election is over, and Rush will remain on top. His excellent sense or reasoning and verbalizing reason, and his self-effacing sense of humor keep him refreshing.

O'Reilly lost me when he said Bill Clinton should be appointed as ambassador to the U.N., and when he became an apologist for Dan Rather and CBS.

No. Occam's Razor: he really is that bad.

Rush is King of the hill ans Sean isn't even close. I caught some of his show the other day and started to count the times he said "I". Lost count so quick I stopped.

Seems like his show is about him and like others said he won't let guests finish a point. I think he just likes to hear himself talk. He uses guests points to somehow relate to him.

I dunno...I have a little more faith in Sean than to believe he was just being a paid shill. I think he found her book genuinely interesting, but I sure wasn't interested in anything she had to say.
