We need to remind those who are in power that the consequence of their dominance is that they will lose the best and brightest of Americans to other, more democratic nations...Just how are these people the "best and brightest?"

Scotland wants immigrants, and the English language thing is helpful in both countries.
This person clearly hasn't travelled to Glasgow if he/she/it thinks that English is spoken there.
but we know our daughter will receive a better education in the UK than she will in Arkansas
This one is even more delusional, most of the U.K. got rid of education on the grounds that it discriminates between stupid people and clever ones - o.t.o.h. perhaps this DUmmy's daughter would do better over here.
Finally, to all DUmmies out there, we may have a left-wing government in the U.K., but not half so much as Canada. Please please please don't come here, there are lots of nasty people (myself being foremost), we have school prayers, we have limits on abortion, we don't allow our courts to invent gay-marriage. Canada is a much better option - this is the land of Thatcher afterall, we have troops in Iraq, our Prime Minister loves George Bush, and we have a new extradition treaty with the U.S. which will hurl your sons and daughters right back into W's draft.
To FReepers, apologies for the above; but we've got more than enough socialists here already. Good luck getting rid of yours, but I don't want them poisoning my land.

'If it comes down to it we will leave here. Mexico, Canada or where ever.'
This sounds like the end of the "Terminator One" movie, where Sarah drives off to Mexico...and she's worried about a daughter being drafted! I like the bit about going to "a more Democratic country"...tell me this, where is there a MORE democratic country?

Typical Liberals. Hate the USA and are not willing to defend it. Let's give them a choice. Leave or institute a draft that's for liberals only (to satisfy their being upset with a draft being reinstituted). That'll give them a reason to leave a country they do not love or are willing to defend. As for the smartest leaving, one of the observations before the election was they figured President Bush's IQ was higher than SKerry's. So they can put that in their pipe and smoke it.

I'll be honest - I worry about the lack of a paper trail, too. The funny part is this - BEFORE the election the republicans were worried about the software being rigged. AFTER - the democrats are obsessed with the issue.
However - I cannot fathom the depths of idiocy these "best and brightest" occupy when they are unable to cope with being out of the majority.

At what point do you decide that you have to flee or fight. I am a pacifist and I would rather flee to Canada that shoot my neighbor.shooting your neighbor? we are at war with a large group of muslim extremists and this guy's thoughts are about shooting his neighbor? i would flee now and find a place where you can live your pacifist life in a dream world of safely...say the antarctic? i hear penguines are friendly, although their dress code is a bit formal

This stuff is just too funny.
I'm completely amazed that they are STILL, and in large numbers, convinced that Bush is going to re-institue the draft.
Psychosis, pure and simple.

My daugter still lives inside the US, and will reach draft age this time round. I'm prepared to airlift her out and offer her refuge if such be needed by her cannon fodder years. I looked this one up in the Loonspeak-English English-Loonspeak handbook, and it translates roughly to "My credit cards are maxed out but I'll try to scrape together enough cash for her to fly standby or something".

If anyone can pick up a copy of "The Stranger" here in Seattle, their post election coverage is a complete hoot. I usually don't touch that filthy rag, but the cover is too good to pass up. All the ultra-liberal Seattleites are in complete and utter meltdown!

Drama Queen Theater is so true!
They are creating all this high drama that doesn't exist....which means they don't have to sit down and look at what a mess their real lives are.
So sad.
So funny!

If indeed many of us plan to leave (as I am), we should not leave quietly. We need to remind those who are in power that the consequence of their dominance is that they will lose the best and brightest of Americans to other, more democratic nations... The fact remains that conservatives need the "liberal elites" more than vice-versa.Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahaha! What a hoot!
