State IQ affects income more than politics

The data below largely dispels the Internet hoax that Democrats are smarter. The IQ’s are calculated from state SAT and ACT scores, adjusted downward about 10 points to get to average.

The income pattern follows the conclusions in IQ and the Wealth of Nations that higher IQ's usually mean higher incomes. As with nations, there are high income exceptions (like Connecticut and District of Columbia).

The purpose of this webpage is to provide better state IQ data than what had been available - not politics. The most likely reason for the lower IQ’s in southern states is their significant Black population. African-Americans consistently test at an average 85 IQ level. Since Blacks overwhelmingly vote Democrat, it is difficult to find a political spin in the data above. Absurd. Note the disclaimer at the bottom of the table: "should not be taken as fact". Well, duh.

Elitist trash. My husband, who has an IQ hovering in the 160 range, holds an MD degree, and works calculus problems and reads about quantum physics for fun, voted for Bush. I wish I could say I'm as bright as hubby, although my IQ is decidedly above average, I only hold BS degree in biology, and I don't read books about quantum physics. I, too, voted for Bush.

This is a made up farce.Any individual with an IQ much lower than 100,which is considered average,is not able to function well in society.In the 80s would have you under supervision or committed.This is an insult possibly passed as fact but no scientific basis for the assertions.

I'm in Texas and am well traveled throughout the south/southeast - I've never met such obtuse people. Maybe it's the way they talk in the south. They just sound stupid as hell. But then so do Bostonians and New Yorkers - and people down here are nice.

To tell the truth, I think IQs might be higher in the northeast... But they're still dumbasses for voting liberal.
