Every few years, they re-norm it so that the average will stay 100. So this year's 100 IQ may, in fact, not be as bright as a 100 IQ from ten or 20 years ago. (Or, not. I don't know)

I'm very certain my parent's generation is of higher IQ than mine. I know my generation is smarter than these 'damn kids'. Or maybe I'm just getting older.

It does influence perspective. I know I'm smarter than the kids nowadays. Then again, I'm a lot smarter now than I was when I was a kid (of 25) too!
