Optical mark systems almost always use printed markings on the paper as a positional reference; the arrows almost certainly serve not only as a marker for the user, but for the scanner as well. I believe that you are incorrect. The scanner looks for marks at positions relative to the edges of the ballot. Since there is no "arrow" where there should be, Bush could get no votes

"If the Democrats are counting on tons of absentee ballots in their vote-fraud efforts, this will kill THEM, not Bush. I think this absentee ballot should be freely distributed in Detroit and every other Democrat parasite nest in Michigan."
While I understand your sentiment ;) the ballot is wrong- no matter who it benefits. This is the kind of thing that can tie up election results AGAIN- and the incompetence in local voting precints will get MORE people supporting the feds running elections EVERYWHERE- and that would be REALLY bad- IMO.

It seems odd that Cheney's name is listed as DICK CHENEY. His name is Richard B. Cheney. I've never seen a ballot with a nickname on it.

While I agree with you (call the county auditor/Elections chief ASAP), what about some soldier in Afghanistan of Iraq? Hard to make a phone call in the middle of nowhere. And even if they send out new ballots, will they be received and resent in time?
If this is more wide-spread than a few counties, then it will have a very negative effect on those in combat whose votes are being counted (or not!).

My parents have not gotten their ballots yet.
Last election my mom never got hers but dad did. Odd thing, she is a registered Republican, he is not.
We will see what happens this year.

My daughter will be voting absentee at her college (IL). I emailed her a copy of the MI ballot, along with a "heads up", so that she can THOROUGHLY review her IL ballot when she receives it........just in case.
Thanks for the HEADS UP.................this makes me ill!!

DAILYKOS.COM is a sKerry-kissing, Soros-loving, anti-Bush screed site. what are you talking about, please clarify
It's a left site that's in the back pocket of the DNC & Moveon.org
CNN likes to promote the site a lot
They use to be big Deanies, but now are pretty much anybody but Bush crowd

UN-eFFing believable!!!
The nitwit blonde of Michigan just called its citizens Michiganians!!!
That serves Michiganders right for electing a Cannuk
To: Alas Babylon!
No, my meaning is that one complaint can set up the recall. BUT, the person needs to have ballot in hand, not something we "heard about" or saw on the internet. And of course a couple calls would be better than one.

HEY GUYS
I would leave this one alone.
Anyone who attends on voting for kerry actually votes for Bush. Anyone smart enought to vote for Bush will pick the first pin hole and will end up voting for BUSH. Both Kerry and Bush voters vote for BUSH. That is what we want?
