Unbelievable, that they would continue with this crap as is nothing happened. Who has the relevant contact information so we can call/e-mail CBS, Viacom? Maybe the "producers" e-mail addresses and direct lines?
CBS is going down...

9/29/2004: CBS News Covers Up Cocco Misattribution
CBS News is now trying to cover up their failure to identify Beverly Cocco as a chapter president of People Against the Draft.
The transcript of their broadcast from last night is here: CBS News - The Issues: Reviving The Draft.
The following line has been added to the transcript, since I first read it and linked to it earlier today:
Beverly Cocco is so concerned she is involved with the organization People Against the Draft.
Rathergate.com has a video capture of the broadcast, and this line is absolutely not in Richard Schlesingers report as it aired last night.
CBS News added it to cover their derrieres.

Lost in MemoGate was the fact that 60 minutes failed to note that Ben Barnes was active with the Kerry campaign. Now this? The problem is much deeper than Rather & Mapes. CBS news needs to be closed down; all of them, no pardons, no prisoners.

The fascinating aspect of this report is that CBS has now FORGED a transcript of its own broadcast, last night. This line, which even when added doesn't explain Cocco's basis for bias, did NOT appear in the original broadcast. So that makes CBS a forger.

CBS just tried to substitute a falsified transcript of its Evening News draft hit piece from last night. In their televised report they failed to note that the 'scared Republican mom' was actually an activist leader of an anti-draft group composed entirely of Greens and Democrats. Now they have altered the transcript to add a mention of the group she is involved in, but still present it as the broadcast transcript. That is a lie, deception and coverup, so you should probably put this story back in Breaking News, perhaps with a title add of 'Altered transcript to add info not broadcast', else you'll get a dozen more of these threads.
Its a huge deal, and the story is in post #5.

"...so concerned she is involved with .." is VERY, VERY different than ".. so concerned she is a (the) founding member of ..."
Just another observation.
By the way, at least two, perhaps as many as four different 60 Minutes producers are continuing to troll anti-war/green/socialist organizations for people who want to discuss "bad experiences" with Army recruiters, the war, and overseas duty.

hey-ooo! I am always confused as to what can be excerpted, and would rather err on the side of Jim Robinson than the bother of an extra click. Please forgive him and all of us who want to do the right thing.
