The U.S. death toll is important, sad, and should be a national headline. But the Jordanian terror bust should be even more so, since that is what we are fighting to combat in the first place. And nobody wants to touch the story with a 10-foot pole, because it could potentially force the other side to send up a white flag of their own.

The AP and UPI have put it on the wire. There is not much definitive info yet on the types of explosives/weapons in the cars, ties to AQ, and Syrian involvement (denied by both Syria and Jordan) or ties back to Iraq.

Okay here’s the deal. Apparently they found “primary materials to make a chemical bomb” and got a confession from some of those arrested. They did not find any actual WMDs.

Check out what I said in the link here as well as the article I referred
to there. They found "primary materials" ... that almost certainly
means components which when combined make the nerve gas.
Nobody is ever going to find VX itself in the possession of terrorists
or anybody else. You do not travel with that junk itself, you mix the
components when they are at a safe distance from you, if you're
smart.

O'course, if you are a suicide murderer, you have more options at
your disposal if you have the components at hand...

I think that there’s a world of difference between discovering terrorist with some unnamed “primary” components to VX gas and discovering terrorist with Saddam’s missing WMD’s distributed by Syria.

And I think that pretending that there isn’t is the difference between credible news organizations worthy of sourcing and blog kook sites.
